Cashlynn's day goes from bad to worse when she breaks into the wrong house and ends up chained, naked in the basement.
Nazai has been told that if he wants to take over the family business, he must be married by his next birthday and make an heir, but he hasn't met anyone that interests him.
After some not subtle threats and casual torture these two come to a deal and good luck to any person that tries to push them, because Nazai is possessive and growly and he has no problem cutting off a person's hand if they touch his wife. and Cashlynn will out shoot her husband, slice up anyone who touches him, and once she cut off a penis and then fed it to them. 

They are quite the pair.

Yes, I've rated it 3 stars, but that's not a negative review. 

I absolutely loved the two time periods that the book was set in. There were so many things mentioned, from the music to the shops and even the use of phones that took me on a nostalgic trip. 

The characters are two very broken people. Our MMC is not a good person. He isn't morally grey. He r**es her, he drugs her, he murders people. He is the worst kind of person. She has been treated poorly her entire life, told she is worthless and abused by those who were meant to protect her.

I liked the story, and I liked the characters. Rent Girl talks about racism, drugs, abuse, power, and so much more, and it does it all really well. The language used around race and the way the racism was shown was so accurate. 

There were some things that i think could have been done better and i didn't like the name change in the 2013 section, but over all a dark romance that had some delightfully murderous moments.

Special shoutout to the author for making the guy drink his own pulped up hand. I liked it a lot. 
Also, something happens in the book, and it starts with P, and normally, that would make me throw my Kindle across a room, but I didn't mind it here.

I think I've hit a point where I'm just reading because I love the squirrel cat.
