Im a bit torn on this one. I loved it, but it felt a bit simple, maybe only because there isn't a lot of backwards and forwards with the romance. He lays all his cards out on the table, pretty much straight away. The barn scene is my favourite. I liked the way the past and present stories were intertwined.
The writing is solid.
I think part of the reason I found it lacking is because I read two top-notch romances straight after.

I loved this. It has everything you could want; A traumatic back story, enemies to lovers, step siblings, only fans, fully fleshed out supporting characters. The character growth is *chefs kiss. The sexy scenes are froth worthy and i love a golden retriever emo dude.
Sometimes i jump into a romance and know it is going to be good, but it doesn't go to deep. It just touches the edges and gives you enough plot to get you through. Nyla K. never does that. They dive in so deep, they don't hold back or cut corners. The drag you into the characters world and you can't put the book down.

A super sweet easy read. A nice palette cleanser. The cover is in no way similar to.the way the characters are described in the book, the mmc is in his 30's.
I think there were a few spelling issues and words missing which was irritating, maybe it was rushed through.
I do know what I'm getting into with books by this author though and it was what I needed after some heavy books.

I liked meeting the characters and the first half of the book and then all of a sudden it went down hill. It felt forced and the flow of the story changed. I can't really put it into words, it was like the characters became less.
I felt like the pacing changed again near the end, it felt rushed and shallow. There was no depth.

A bummer because after 25% I thought I was going to have to checkout the authors other series.
