I liked this book & thought it was cute but wasn’t super impressed! It was a really quick read and I loved the celebrity/normal girl trope & of course the fake dating but there was just something missing! Both the main characters were great and I loved seeing them evolve into better people throughout the book! It was definitely really cute but overall, I wasn’t wowed by it!

I really wanted to love this book but it just fell flat for me! I loved the writing and the concept but I just didn’t really connect with any of the characters (except Theo I loved Theo) I loved the Groundhog Day story and wished we got more of that throughout the book. I really liked the setting and the cabin and the families. I thought that was really fun! I think my problem was that I fell in love with the wrong brother... I always seem to pick an underdog and I was a little disappointed when things just seemed to work out too perfectly. It felt like there wasn’t enough conflict and the big conflict wasn’t even an issue that should’ve been fought over. Anyways, this book just isn’t for me but I know so many others love it!

Karen m McManus has done it again folks. This book was seriously the wildest ride I’ve ever been on! I really loved all of the cousins. It was so nice to see them all as they first meet and who they grew into be after the crazy summer. I never saw any of the twists coming and the twists just kept coming! This book was such a great twisty turny journey that I stayed up entirely too late to finish. Overall, I highly recommend this one! It is a wonderful story that I think will have readers entranced within the first 20 pages! Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Children’s for the EARC in exchange for an honest review!

This book was so cute!! I really loved Kit and David. They were both such complex characters that had a lot to work through. I liked that this was a pretty serious book! The topics covered in this book were done well I felt like. I really liked the awkwardness of their friendship in the beginning and watching them grow into good friends and maybe something more. (The end is very vague and open to interpretation of how things may go) I really liked the alternating POV. I love seeing into both MCs thoughts and actions. It always helps a story unfold more for me. Many know that I love an epilogue and I love a very set ending and conclusion but I actually really liked that this one ended the way it did. The cover of this one also really makes you expect a fun adorable YA book but wow the insides of this book are a lot more serious and deep! Overall, I really liked this book!⠀

This is a modern retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice Greek myth! I have heard of this story but didn’t really know too much about it going into the book and didn’t want to look anything up until after I finished! After reading the myth, I was really able to understand the book a little better! Part 1 of this book was a little slow for me and I had trouble getting through it until I hit part 2. Part 2 is so action packed and wild that I couldn’t put this book down! I really loved Eury and Pheus and their love for each other. I loved how Pheus did whatever he could to save Eury. I loved his passion for music and how he used it to help her. Overall, I really liked this one! I haven’t read very many Greek mythology retellings but I really enjoyed this one!! ⠀

!! I’ll be honest, I am not a nonfiction reader. I think this was my third nonfiction I’ve read this entire year. I’m working on this problem so bare with me as I try to add this genre into my routine! BUT I listened to the audiobook and read along with the book and it was the best decision I could’ve made. The narration was phenomenal and it really helped my mind stay on the words being said. It felt all the more powerful to hear the words. This book is an incredible story that I don’t think my review can do justice for. It is an extremely powerful book full of real life stories that I feel like everyone needs to read. ⠀

So, READ THIS BOOK!!! ⠀

This book will easily be in my top 10 of 2020... maybe my top 10 ever??? When you see people saying “you should read this book!!” About this book... you should seriously READ THIS BOOK. Wow. I’m seriously so blown away by this book and it’s been almost a month since I read it. This book and the amazing characters never leave my mind. Yadriel was a wonderful character who wanted to be accepted as a brujo by his family and he did so much more than that. He sacrificed everything and I just loved seeing his confidence grow throughout the book. Julian was such a complex and amazing character who made me laugh out loud and also want to cry at the same time! He was the cool bad boy but was so soft on the inside. I loved how fiercely he would protect any of his family if he needed to. Yadriel and julians dynamic together was so great. They were hilarious and really got to know each other and were accepting of who they were. They both helped each other is so many ways and the end just made me so happy

UM WOW. I listened to this book as an audiobook and finished it in like 4 hours. This was an incredible audiobook narrated by the author and she does a wonderful job! This book blew me away. I couldn’t stop listening to find out what was going to happen next for Emoni, Emma, and the rest of the amazing characters. This is the first Elizabeth Acevedo book I’ve read and it certainly won’t be the last! Her writing is amazing and had me hooked by the first few minutes. I loved Emoni and how hardworking she was. She worked so hard for herself but also for her daughter and grandmother. She also just wanted to be a normal high schooler too and I’m so glad she was able to go on the trip and have that experience! I also really enjoyed that there was a little romance sprinkled throughout the book but it wasn’t the entire plot! This book was so well done and I will be shouting my love for it from the roof tops!! ⠀

What a perfect way to start off December! I was having trouble getting into any of the books I had from the library but once I started this one, I was hooked! This book and the characters felt so real and so relatable. Paige was such a great main character in my opinion. She really struggled with anxiety to the point it was dictating every single decision she had to make. I feel like this is something a lot of teenagers deal with but never talk about with anyone! Fitz was just
