I really enjoyed that one. It is creative, funny and fast paced. Scalzi created a universe where violence and humanity go hand in hand in a clever way. His characters are relatable and interesting. It is also a real page turner. I am definitely going to keep reading this series, it is very, very good.

Well, that didn’t disappoint, 4.5 stars. Hyperion Cantos is one of the most breathtaking and riveting series I’ve read. It is quite complexe with many twists, turns, concepts and characters, but Simmons’ excellent writing makes it all understandable and enjoyable.
It is really great sci-fi, with many original and fascinating elements. It is not light reading for sure, but I highly recommend it.

This book represents a ton of work from its author. It is quite interesting on a historical level and filled with funny and relevant details. But… it is also designed in a non-linear “exploded” way that I didn’t really enjoy.
Don’t get me wrong, Talbot is absolutely a master at this and his drawing skills are remarkable, but I just had too much of a hard time to really appreciate it. I do believe some readers will enjoy it a lot more than I did, and some will quit after 10 pages… This is certainly special and polarizing work, but worth checking out as a comics fan.

Pas mon préféré. Jacobs est toujours remarquable de précision mais je trouve qu'il en fait trop dans cet album, ça en devient lourd. Rebondissement après rebondissement, long monologue cliché après long monologue cliché... ça fait trop. La qualité de l'écriture demeure excellente, mais ça devient lassant au bout d'un moment.
