I was really excited to get into this book because of how much I adore thrillers, and I found this one to be quite run of the mill. I'm not saying that's a bad thing I mean it had all the elements of a superb thriller and they all were done quite well, but I just think that for me the book fell short in the non-thriller areas.
the lead, jenna, was one of the most annoying characters ever! I found myself skimming her chapters a bit, especially when she brought up her child and husband because it all just felt so unnecessary? more than that, however, the ending was a bit of a letdown for me. the conclusion was really interesting, but I hate how in the end the author decied to tie up all the loose ends in the worst way possible by basically just telling us instead of showing us, and it left quite a bad taste in my mouth.
my 2 grievances aside though, this was an interesting book and I look forward to reading more books by Claire Douglas.
