Closer to 3.5 stars rather than 4. Replete with detail, certainly, but sometimes that overwhelms the plot. The novel also seems to approach several climaxes, which makes its true and final one far less satisfying. Our protagonist is also an odd mix of empowered and so unable to make any moves for herself that it's annoying. Overall, a nice read, but it doesn't live up to the hype.
A gorgeous coming-of-age novel, made even better by its audiobook reader. The perfect novel for an afternoon that hasn't decided whether or not it's summer or fall.
I wanted to love this book SO BAD. I could have forgiven the poorly fleshed out characters, but the horrifically written sex scenes really put this over the edge for me. I'm disappointed.
