An extremely solid new release. I could not give it five stars because it wasn’t nearly as good as her last book— Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. But it was still really good. I definitely shed some tears.
Exceedingly original. I didn’t laugh out loud, but I enjoyed the humor!! Overall a fun book.
I selected this book for my Bad Bitch Book Club's May 2019 book of the month, and wow-- I'm so glad I did. This book had me reflecting on my high school experience in a way that was a little bit painful. That said, the ending was satisfying and I appreciated the representation in the story.
I debated whether to give this book four or five stars, since there are no in-between options. Though the book is about ordinary people with an normal-though-complex relationship, I think the real purpose of this book is to reflect on your own relationships. The pain I felt reading this wasn’t necessarily for the characters, but for myself.
This book took me 200 pages to get into & I’ll admit I debated quitting around 100— but I’m glad I stuck with it because it’s a worthwhile story that I deeply enjoyed. That said, I didn’t need 4 adjectives for every noun!!
