"People do what their society rewards them for doing. If the society rewards trust, people will be trusting."

This book is the first book in a trilogy on Shiva, the simple man whose karma re-cast him as our Mahadev, the /god of Gods. The story takes place during 1900BC (also called as the Indus valley civilization ) in the land of Meluha - a near perfect empire created by Lord Rama centuries earlier. Will the ancient legend that has been a hope for the people come true? Is the rough-hewn Tibetian immigrant Shiva, really that hero?

The first thing i loved about the book is the fact that the character traits of all the names used does not deviate from the actual mythology. It is pretty easy to connect the characters to their behavioral traits. The second thing i loved about the book is the character introduction and what is the place they have in the book. It really gives the reader a way to refer the characters when a new one gets introduced.

While Shiva might be the main character in the book, he is as clueless as us readers. That gives an extra bonding while reading. We get to know about how the civilization works, and what is the legend or meaning behind every rule they follow. There are small illustrations given as well for few and it really helps understand the concept of their origin.

The only pre-requisite to read this book is that, if you start reading with Shiva as 'The God of Destroyer of Evil', then you will not be able to enjoy the simple concepts and the confusion he has, which holds a very important role for the plot development. I really love the way the relationship between Sati and Shiva has been depicted. If you know the actual history of Shiva & Sati, you will be able to get the contrast between the book and the actual events. It actually made a really good point for me, and i actually really enjoyed the differences. That is the reason i couldn't give a whole 5 stars. I am diving into the next book with a clean slate!

But let me warn you! This book ends in a really bad Cliffhanger, and you will be forced to pick up the next book in the series!! Other than that, I absolutely loved this book. Though it had few flaws, it was such a solid and wonderful read, and i definitely recommend this book to you if you are a fan of mythological fiction!

The first thing I really loved about this book was how funny it was! Despite dealing with magic, fantasy and a serious topic, I loved the humour that was spread throughout the book! Made the reading so much better.
.
The second thing was how the friendship was portrayed. Even though you are in a really bad position, you can trust your friends. It really connected well with me!
.
The writing was really light yet good, and loved the plot line. The only thing was I did not realize this was a part of a huge series and it was confusing at first! But once I got the hang of how things went, it was really enjoyable!!
.
If you are looking for a good fantasy series to binge, or just read a funny yet serious series, I definitely recommend this!

This was such an adorable and fun read! The characters had so much depth with such simple plotline.. The illustrations were really casual and fun! And that definitely added to the humour and the storyline. Definitely a good in-between read and I loved it absolutely!

“Sometimes it seems like everyone knows who I am except me.”
.
This story follows the character Simon, and how he deals with his identity and how he falls in love with a mysterious online boy who seems to know and understand everything .
.
The first thing I loved was the relationship that was portrayed among the family, friends and all of them. It was very heart warming to know/have someone to go to when something bad happens to you.
.
The second thing was how funny it actually was! I didn't realize it would be filled with so much humor and references from other books, and how loved the main character is in this school. Not a lot of YA novels deals with a main characters who is kind, put together, popular and not alone. It was really refreshing to read about!
.
Though this books deals with a really sensitive and important topic 'Sexuality', it was done really well and was realistic. I loved that about this book. The only thing I didn't like was how it progressed. Sometimes, a lot of conversations felt unnecessary and dragged a bit. I would have enjoyed this book even more, if that was not the case.
.
Overall, it was such a good read, and If you are looking for a good LGBTQ+ book with a good plot, nice writing, friendship, coming out, high school bullying, and a really cute friendship and romance, I definitely recommend this to you guys!

"How you love yourself is how you teach others to love you"

This book is a collection of poetry and prose about survival. Its is about the experience of violence, abuse, love, loss and femininity.

Trigger Warning : If you are easily triggered by physical/emotional violence & abuse, please do not pick this book up.

This book is split into four chapters, with each chapter serving to heal a different heartache. First, I was really surprised by the way how the author has approached the topics that were discussed in the book . Sexual abuse, violence and mental health are such sensitive topics, and the way the book deals with them, with both verse and the little illustrations were amazing! The words were really powerful and will definitely help anyone who is going through difficult times like these.

Sometimes the lines can be a little intimidating, and can be difficult to wrap your head around but it definitely created a powerful impact. One thing i really loved about this book is how every difficult topic was paired with a closure as ending. It gives that full circle of any issue. I listened to this book as an audio book read by the author herself, and it really gave the book a different perspective. Even though the book was really good, i couldn't connect with the emotions the book dealt with. It might be because of the fact that the book had too much hype around it, and i went in with such great expectations. It did not disappoint me, but it did not exceed it either. So that is the only reason i am giving it a 4 star.

I definitely recommend this book if you are someone who wants to get that inspiration to help you with understanding what happens around people dealing with abuse/ abuse in their personal or professional life. Be it family, friends, love or anything. This book has the potential to help you through them definitely!

'I knew it was wrong. He was the worst kind of wrong. He was so wrong it felt right, and that made me feel completely out of control'

This story revolves around our main character Nora Grey, who is drawn to her mysterious and sexy seat partner in her class, Patch. This story unfolds her confusion, deals with all her trust issues and finding out that she is right in the middle of centuries-old battle between two powerful races.

The first thing i loved was, the friendship between Nora and her crazy best friend Vee Sky. Even when Vee puts her in a really dangerous situation, (even when Nora warns her not to do that particular thing) she goes out of her way and try to help her. This really made me feel good and it held a really important plot weight. Plus it made me miss my friends!

The second was how the character development of Patch was done step by step. I definitely felt the mysterious aura around him and it was such a fun ride trying to discover the truth about him along with Nora! The first half of the book is all about Nora trying to discover more about Patch. The second is about her wanting more to know about his past! And i felt that the character development was done really good, and it definitely gets good towards the ending!

The story-line is the usual 'Bad boy finds love and turns good', but with a really good twist! And let us just talk about Patch's power for a minute now. If i had someone like him in my life, i would definitely be freaking out!(Thank god its a book, and we can all enjoy reading about Nora's suffering). I felt that few character introductions and development were done in such a way that i could predict the ending (kind of) which was really a let down for me personally. Otherwise this book would have been a 5-star read! Also in few places, i felt that the way Nora thinks was out of her character. Also i personally felt the relationship between Nora and her mother was not covered quite well. It might be done in the upcoming books, but it lacked that touch for me personally. I was straight up laughing at the relationship between Patch and Nora's mother (in a good way)!

The way the book ended was definitely good! I was squealing at the end after what happened! It was definitely not a cliff-hanger, but it left me yearning for more and i am expecting the rest of the books in this series to be delivered any minute now! I thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely recommend if you are looking for a really fun and mysterious book which deals with a girl dealing with trust issues, and includes Fallen Angels, power and fight for power.
