'I don't feel I am coming to this house for the first time. This is real home, life lives here'

This story revolves around our two main characters Jai and Sakshi, who meet each other by coincidence, and then the story develops as their paths continue to cross resulting in them figuring out their dreams and feelings.

The first thing i really loved about this book was the way the relationship was portrayed between Jai and his family. Few scenes involving his mother and father were really cute! It was really a healthy bond which can make anyone jealous. I really loved that about this book. The second thing was the contrast between Jai's family and Sakshi's family. It is a known concept but was handled really good.

The meeting of Jai and Sakshi was a simple setup and i really liked that. But while the book progressed, the conversations between them felt too filmy and it was quite a let down. It would have been better if they didn't include the names of the character in every sentence. The exchange of feelings in the form of songs were really cute. It actually removed some of the awkward conversations that would have happened otherwise! Since it was in Hindi(with translated short verse in English), the translation didn't do justice to the actual meaning of the lines they were singing. Also in some places it felt very cheesy that it left me wondering 'If someone says that in real life, it would be too weird to even reply!'

While addressing Sakshi's father, in someplaces they used his first name and in the next line they used his last name. It was confusing at first and needed sometime to get used to. Also when i read the blurb of the book, i thought it would deal with their conflicting emotions trying to pick each other over their dreams. But I felt the book actually never gave me the feeling of the 'heartbreak of being apart' part, and it ended rather quickly! It would have been even better if it was explained a little more.

Sakshi bonding with Jai's family, the trust Jai and Sakshi had on each other and the cute moments they shared when they were travelling together made it a really fluffy and fun romantic read! Though a little less of them would have been nice to read. Being a fan of thriller/Horror, i found the cute moments dragged on before the next plot happened. Plus i felt the editing/formation of sentences could have been done a little better(It was simple, yet lacked power in places).

If you are looking for a Bollywood film type romantic adventure that includes family love, songs, self discovery and cheesy dialogues, then I definitely recommend this book to you! Without a doubt, it was a refreshing read for me.

Okay the concept of putting 2 of the coolest things a Vampire + a Pirate was intriguing. I picked this book without knowing it was a part of a series just for the cover and name alone!

Coming to the story, the concept of the book was pretty exciting, but it did not have me glued to the book. I had a pretty hard time sitting through it.

The alternate perspective was really good, but at some places i felt it was kind of a drag and was over explained. If you are looking for a very light read, you might be interested in the way this book is written. Those who love complex YA or Adult books, this might disappoint you.

'It is meant to happen. Everything in the history of the world has been preparing itself for this moment. There is no coincidence. Everything is planned. If we don't see that, we lose one of out greatest weapons'

This story follows the main character Matt Freeman who gets into trouble with the police and is being sent to a foster home, where everything feels wrong and he realizes that he is different from the others. I really like Anthony Horowitz writing, simple yet really powerful. I am a big fan of anything supernatural and i decided to pick this book up after reading the synopsis.

The characterization of Matt was not really satisfying for me, but there were moments where the character's sassy mind comments made me laugh out loud! The story-line is very simple to follow and it is an easy supernatural read. This book deals with the emotions of a young boy who has lost his parents and his difficulties trying to grasp the new surroundings he has been put into. At times, i felt like few plots were just introduced and left hanging, and it did not make sense to me. Probably they were necessary for the series continuation, but it did not feel like a cliffhanger.

I really loved the relationship between Richard and Matt and how both of them grows an un-named relationship among themselves. I was more interested in knowing about Richard more than the main character, so that threw me off balance for a while, especially towards the end.I will definitely pick the second book in this sequel to know more about what happens to Richard and the Gate!.

If you are interested in a simple supernatural story involving witches, the chosen children, and Old ones, pick this up!

'I couldn't look into your trusting face each day knowing I was deceiving you, knowing that I now had enough knowledge to destroy your home, and the mother and father you loved. I was a coward, Nettie. I ran away'

This line especially really made me feel and i almost cried, almost. This book follows out main characters Nettie and her tutor Miss Kovachev, who disappeared leaving Nettie wondering.. It has alternating point of views, which is not mentioned explicitly, so it can get pretty confusing at some places.

Trigger Alert : This books deals with illegal immigration and abusive relationship. If you are easily triggered/offended by them, please don't read this book.

I started reading this book with different expectations after reading about mystery disppearences and ghosts. But The story line was pretty simple but i felt that the characterization could have been a little more detailed and clear. It was kind of a drag at the beginning and i had a difficult time trying to go through. The alternative point of view between two characters were good, but very confusing if you are not keen. In few places i was wondering what was happening and couldn't grasp the picture of what the author was trying to explain.

Apart from that, the way Nettie grows as a person and learns to differentiate between the actual reality and said reality is really good. The friendship she has with the bubbly and daring Benny, her relationship with her tutor, were all beautiful. It dealt with real world problems about making friends, coping up in an odd environment where everyone sees you as an outcast were true to the words. I really loved the bond between Nettie and her Great Aunt, and their conversations were always giving hope and dreams to Nettie. But i absolutely loved the ending and how Nettie accepts her for who she is and grows emotionally.

I would have enjoyed this book more if the point of views were clear and the characterization were done more in detail. Though i loved the concept of the book, i don't think it was the one for me. If you are looking for a simple and light read about how a child copes with the changes in her life with lot of truth coming out of hiding because of her loneliness and curiosity, this can be a book for you!
