TJ Klune is one of my favorite authors of all time. And when the story involves a dead soul, a Reaper, a ferryman and some falling in love, how can I resist? He has a kind of writing style that makes me laugh at inappropriate times (even when the scene is not funny) and fall in love with characters even when they are annoying.
.
Under the Whispering Door is a kind of book that makes you laugh at weird times, makes you wish you had enjoyed life at it's fullest, and made friends who would reminisce fondly when you finally leave the world. Wallace was the kind of character you stayed away from in life, but gets to see what he missed when his time was finally over. Hugo is the kind of Teddy bear you would want to keep in your life. They made an odd, yet excellent pair! This book is filled with witty comments, dry humour, and a lot of heartbreaking moments. Even the discussion of grief and heartbreak was infused with good humour which warmed my heart. Honestly, the Reaper is one of my favorite characters. She is a spit fire with quick words and humour that it was impossible to fall not in love. I really liked the heart to heart scenes between Wallace and Hugo and the way Hugo influenced him to see life differently. Nelson made me cry at the end and those two words broke me. (If you know you know).

The Green Creek series resides in my heart rent free. With that being said, I don't think this book was done to it's full potential. The concept of a lost soul falling in love with the ferryman who makes him live the life that he missed? Amazing. The way they fall in love? Really good. But, the pacing was quite erratic and sometimes it felt Wallace character development was forced. The ending made sense, but I expected more from it. It was a really good story, don't get me wrong, but it's not a 5 star for me. But if you are new to this author, then this book would hit you very differently!

Thank you @panmacmillanindia for having me on the tour and the gifted review copy!

What happens when the best night of your life turns into the worst? Full of menace and suspense, this is an amazing thriller that will get you hooked.
When a group of friends go for a Prom night getaway, things get bad.

My Rating : [2.75/5]

When there is a mysterious texter, a teenage girl with anxiety trying to uncover the mystery, Indian mom's meddling with every decision, and a group of friends who makes stupid decisions together when there's murder involved? I mean how can I not read this book??

My Rating [ 4.5/5 ]

King and Gio made the perfect couple! I expected a lot of action, but the this book focused more on the character's struggles. I think the closure both Gio and King got was kind of underwhelming and I expected a lot more from the story.

Okay, I'mma be honest and tell you, I love MC romances.. And if it's dark, has a lot of triggering topics that are dealt well, I'mma fall in love with the book and the characters. These two are one such series I absolutely love. Make sure to read the TW before you pick thia up okay??

My Rating [5/5]

"If I could go back, I’d shake myself. I became like Coin, that solid gold bird forever resting on his roost. I clipped my own wings, I stayed listless on my perch. So if I make it through this, if I live, I vow to myself that I won’t let it happen again. I won’t sit idly by and keep letting men crush me in their fists."

Wholesome and Heartwarming !

When I read the blurb, I was intrigued from the first page. The characters, the way the author introduced the situations, and how the author handled the conflicts, the chemistry between the characters, everything was done really well. The communication between the characters, the relationship between the siblings, omg what didn't I like. Definitely a must read !!

SciFi is one of my favorite genres to read and when you combine it with futuristic concept and a species war? I am all for it.

My Rating :

When it's a slow-burn Friends to Lovers story with such contrasting personalities and some cute star gazing thrown in, I was sold. I don't read a lot of friends to lovers, but this book hit a lot of right notes for me. Check TW before you pick this up.

My Rating :

Characters from our favourite Mythology now living amongst humans and when something goes wrong, it's upto Dio to save his father and the end of humanity and the world as we know it. Tell me you do not want to read this book after this ! It's a perfect mix of familiar characters and unfamiliar surroundings which made for an amazing combination and story !
