I seriously cannot get over how beautiful the writing is!! And To be honest, I absolutely loved where this story is going.. There are lot of lose ends and questions.. But I really hope the 3rd book makes me cry 😂
My Rating : 4🌟
Is it weird to say this book did not make me cry?? I still felt bad, but I felt happy for the characters more!

This story follows two of our characters Grace and Flor, their unexpected acquaintance and how they deal with the society and their own feelings as well.
Thankyou Netgalley for providing me with the review copy in exchange for an honest review. All views are my own and is not influenced in any way.
First of all, I picked this book up because Chandler Ainsley was talking about this on booktube and I was intrigued. The fact that this book has a cis and a trans character as main focus is making me really happy! This is my first time ever reading a queer graphic novel and my expectations were set high. Second, I don't know what it is, but I am really drawn to the art style this book has! It looks like a pencil shading first draft, but it has so much character to it and I really liked it. I think this can be categorized as a f/f relationship since both our main characters identify themselves as females.
Now coming to the actual storyline. I would say this was a really simple yet a cute portrayal of our characters plotting something they shouldn't be doing, and getting caught. It was fun to read and it also dealt with discussing topics on self discovery and how the society views people who does not fit a standard they have set. It was really refreshing to read about the struggles anyone goes through when they feel like an outcast even in their own skin.
With all that being said, this book had so much potential to discuss about what the characters want, how they feel about themselves and their own identity. But to my opinion it was not what I expected it to be and it was slightly disappointing. It was in no means bad, but not what I expected since it had so much potential. It's a very short graphic novel with a heist plot, but could have done better with how the dialogues went.
Overall, I am really glad I picked this book up, it was really fun, cute and a refreshing read. If you want to pick up a queer graphic novel with diverse main character representation, definitely give this one a try. I think you will enjoy it !

This story is set in a very futuristic Earth where mankind is immortal ( It's a super cool concept and you need to read the book to understand it ) and is stagnant. We follow our main character Krishna who plays a key role in how the world came to be, and how the threats now arising are endangering the future residents of Bhoomi ( Name of the future Earth after 2 million years ) and how he along with his friends figures out a way to save it and accept his destiny.

I received this book from the author for review in exchange for my honest opinions. All views are my own and is not influenced in any way.

Okay, first of all, the fusion between the concept of Mahabaratha and the futuristic technologies was really intriguing. The way this book started with the description of a butterfly for a whole page was really something to appreciate! The character introductions were really good, and their characteristics were quite distinguishable. The way the story was written and the flow of the words was done, caught my eye and it made it even more interesting to read about the story.

Now coming to the plot, the book started with our main character Krishna in the futuristic Earth also called Bhoomi. The way this world is introduced is through his narrative and you get to experience a lot of surprises along the way as well! He is a technical genius who is also responsible for keeping the people of Jambu-Dhweep alive after the apocalyptic event that pushed man-kind to their limit. The story then progresses in finding out a new threat that puts the existence of them all in jeopardy, and how Krishna along with his group try to find a way and help the people evade this. The first half of the book was figuring out what is happening, and exploring the new world and understanding the society as well. But towards the end of it, you feel the plot being rushed, and you don't get to grasp what is happening. The pacing till 60% of the book is quite good and after that it feels rushed and the wrapping up of the story feels forced towards the end as well. And that ending!! I am so happy this is a series, otherwise I might cry from that ending!! I hope to read the next book as well and get some of my questions answered !!

Coming to the characters, Mohan's character is strong, confident, fact driven, loyal and annoyingly charming. His character along with his partner in crime at work Mohan makes for a wonderful pair!! I loved the relationship between them both, and especially their trust. The characters all get their own scenes to mark their presence and have us as readers get a taste of their personalities. But, I would have loved to see some character developments or just some kind of a backstory to get attached to them as characters as well. The character I was most attached to was Krishna, and it makes sense because we spend time with him the most. Second best was Vallabha, and you need to read the book to see why 😏
.
But overall, I really loved how the concepts & names incorporated from one of my favourite epic stories Mahabaratham and how this book gave a twist to it , and also delivered a very important message along with it as well! If you are a fan of Indian Mythology, retelling or just mythological fiction, give this book a go!! I was really surprised to how much I really liked this story!!
