Mouse Guard never fails to fill me with the warm & cozies. My favourite fireside series.

When watching the films, I've always found the Chamber of Secrets to be the most difficult to get through. A necessary hardship for the goodness to come in later films. This is NOT the case with the book. There are so many little gems that add to the characters' depths that just don't make it to film at all. The Deathday Party is perhaps my favourite chapter, giving us a much more intimate experience with the ghosts of Hogwarts and the ways in which they experience "life" at the school. I feel that Ginny, particularly in the final chapters, is shown to be much more profound than the film ever really offers. Lockhart is still Lockhart, but substantially less insufferable. The sense of time in the book feels really well paced vs the film. I could go on. Overall, I was pleasantly reminded of why rereading the books was a good choice to make.
