This was surprisingly good! I was expecting it to be boring but I actually really enjoyed it.

A Classic for a Reason

I can see why this is considered a classic. It’s well written in a whimsical way and the illustrations were cute.

It was good except for the narrator’s voice in the audiobook.

A little boring from time to time but otherwise good.

Not exactly what I expected but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I am in love with the prose and I love any book with guillotines.

I’m very conflicted about this book. I liked the concept and the overarching message but I did not like the execution. I felt it lacked worldbuilding and character development, to me this book just felt underdeveloped. I did not enjoy it but I didn’t hate it either.

I liked the second half of this book when the two finally got together (I’m ignoring the third act breakup). Unfortunately, in the first half the fmc kept acting like a child which was pretty annoying.

Well, that was depressing. This should be required reading in schools.

The construction of this novel was tedious but the story itself was well written.
