It really scratched my itch for a great (modern) forensic novel. I can't wait to read the sequel.
I'm sorry but this one was so boring. I loved the last one's case and this one barely focused on the case. The plot more followed Kay's personal life which I get is a necessity for the story but she barely worked on the case.
Trigger Warning: frequent homophobic slurs
I really really really enjoyed this book. The case was well put together. BUT there were so many homophobic slurs which I can't support.

I'm disappointed. The middle was great but the beginning and end was so dull. I don't know if I'll continue with the series.
This book was so boring that it gave me a headache. I gave it two stars instead of one because I found the language analysis stuff interesting to an extent.
My friend insisted I read this book even though I was content to imagine the end. I’m glad I did continue! It was really good.
I won a free ebook in a goodreads giveaway!
Beautiful and thoughtful poems. I look forward to exploring this poet's work more.

I have to admit I was disappointed in this book. I have read many other Holocaust books, and though I would not call myself anything close to an expert, there were many inaccuracies that fundamentally changed the course of the story.
For one, the entire plot regarding meeting at the fence would’ve been impossible because of how closely guarded they were as well as them being electrically active.
But one of the biggest things for me was that this book felt like it severely toned down the horrors of The Holocaust to just a bad vacation, which it was to Bruno but not to so many others. For such a hyped book it didn’t do the real life event justice.
As for the writing, it came off as childish to me and while I understand that it was from a child’s perspective, I feel that it was too childish.
That said, I did enjoy the book. I particularly liked how Bruno mispronounced/misspelled important titles/names. I had a big AHA moment when I figured out what they really were.
Ultimately, this was a quick read that I enjoyed but I wouldn’t recommend because of the inaccuracies.
Lots of love!

This book was such a drag. And let me tell you that I am so done with fae. Also the mc was so stupid? Why would she keep forgiving these people the moment after they hurt her? Ugh. And the plot was boring.
I liked this one even more than book one! I was so invested and the ending literally made me cry. The epilogue was so sweet and I really hope there is a one shot novella in the future!
