Pacing is important. This book lacked it. While the premise was intriguing it went MUCH too fast for my liking. There was a lot of movement happening at all times which makes for a quick read but it also makes for a confusing one. Another confusing factor was the lack of explanation. We enter into the story with Lily's POV and just as we are getting used to her voice we're switched to another setting in the next chapter and don't realise that it's another character for several pages. The switch between Zeph and Lily's POV was jarring each time, especially when they met, which was a mess in itself. There was also a distinctive lack of world building. I was left wondering if there was actually a world at all.
