This was very charming. A fast read that shows the connection between mother and daughter very well.

A moving collection. My favorites were “12 Absolutely True Facts About Richard Wright” and “Black History, Abridged”

I think the first part of this book with the authors story was very touching and helpful. I liked seeing their journey unfold and see how they reached their current identity. The second half of the book was helpful, if a bit commonplace in my opinion. I liked seeing the advice applied to a gender frame work, but it’s not really new information.

A really interesting collection of short stories, several of which were science fiction. I really enjoyed it!

This book was weirdly haunting and relatable at the same time. I can see why it's so widely enjoyed, and I keep thinking about it, especially in this modern era. Life imitates art or whatever.

It was compelling enough to keep going but not enough to be happy about it. I thought the plot twist would be twistier, but honestly if you went to Sunday School in the South then?? Nothing is surprising.

Incredible! I think this was such a great extension of Parable of the Sower. I enjoyed the multiple perspectives and the progression of the story. Equally heartbreaking and hopeful. It truly deserved the Nebula!

This book started out slow but really got me obsessed as it went on. I really cared for the characters, especially Sabine, and was desperate to know how it ended. A book equally unsettling as it is engrossing.
