I really love Miller’s storytelling, and this novella was no exception. It’s something deeply recognizable to me, the way the characters interact and live. Something I’m probably going to think about for awhile.

Wonderful atmosphere! Fantastic story and world building! I’m so happy there’s a full novel in this universe to read next.

I really enjoyed this! I like Sherlock Holmes-esque stories so this was something familiar without being the exact same story. I enjoyed the characters and the mystery in this story. I feel like the author has a way of making the story feel longer than it actually is, but in a really positive way.

Fantastic. I feel like this book makes it easy to see why Kincaid is so widely studied and enjoyed. I really loved this book and the message it told, as well as the way it was told.

Clark created a fantastic story here! The imagination and fantastic elements he weaves in so effortlessly make this a memorable read. I’m excited to read more of his work.

I’m not sure what I expected, but a dragged out coming of age drama wasn’t really it. I can see where the author was pulling in some larger themes about souls and ethics, but honestly the book was so boring and the characters so uninteresting that I couldn’t really bring myself to care. It seemed to cycle in on itself too much and was just not compelling in any way to me.

I really loved the storyline with the Yakuza in this one. I think it’s leading to an interesting premise.
