It's set during the plague in Europe during the biblical end of days. Pretty nuts.
My favorite part was when a knight passed out in the bank of a river and a plague-ridden woman came upon him, put her dead husband's ring on the knight's hand and said "I MARRY YOU," kissed him and died on him. It was ridiculous.

I really really liked the conclusion. But, overall it was super slow and I found Merritt unlikable until the very end. But there was a lot I loved about it. I'm very mixed!
