First Impressions
Ashes of You is the last book of the “Lost & Found” series with characters hinted at for the next upcoming series. I was feeling so melancholy knowing that this would be the last of the series but also terrified that Lawson’s book wouldn’t live up to expectation because I have been madly in love with his character and his adorable boys since book one. So going into this one I was so nervous for, because its also the last book but also because Lawson and his boys are characters that deserve the best happiness after the struggles they have had. Ashes of You is the most poignant beautiful masterpieces that this author has ever created. Ashes of You is a breathtaking book that blew my mind. I didn’t know what to expect because lately single dad/nanny books just haven’t worked for me. But I can tell you this book knocked my socks off. It was tender and sweet and packed with so much deep emotion that I can guarantee that you won’t get enough of it.

First Line
Keep Moving. Keep Moving. Keep Moving.

Summary
Lawson and his brothers found Hallie lost in the woods with apparent trauma, and now its been five years. Hallie and Lawson have never forgotten each other. But Hallie is back in town, learning to cope with the trauma of being kidnapped and tortured and being the only survivor of a serial killer. When there is an opening to be the nanny for Lawson’s three sons, Lawson and Hallie find a way to make it work for all parties involved. Hallie is still struggling with anxiety and learning to accept the changes that are part of her life, while at the same time dealing with the complex family dynamics with Lawson and his sons. There is some powerful chemistry that is building between Lawson and Hallie, and their story resonates deeply. But Hallie is also discovering the strength in each of his sons and learning to connect with them and bringing them out of the shadows and into the light. As they learn to connect with each other, they become a family where they least expect it….but there is a danger unforseen that could tear their foundation apart…

What I Loved
Ashes Of You is a book that BLEW my heart and soul out of the water! Honestly, I am speechless in how I am going to be able to adequately convey this story and how well its written. This story resonated with me so deeply and FINALLY a nanny heroine I can actually love. (lately a lot of nanny romances, the heroine has been sarcastic and sassy and just very unlikeable) so it was so refreshing to have a nanny heroine that was softer and feminine and has such a kind heart. But she is so strong, and what I really was drawn to the most was the inner strength Hallie has, and it reflects so strongly in other aspects of the story. The connection that she builds with each of the sons is so captivating. They each have different journeys and distinct personalities and she responds to them in such a way that is so precious. Her patience with them is well captured and I just admired Hallie so much. Definitely one of the BEST heroines I have read in a long while. Then we have Lawson, who is a working dad but trying to get balance with his sons and building something special with Hallie. Lawson is having to learn to trust in himself again so he can trust Hallie. Its not easy for him because he was treated so poorly in the past and once everything comes to light, you have such understanding for the struggle that the hero is having to face with his feelings growing for Hallie and the connection she is building with his sons. There is such a level of respect between Lawson and Hallie that is so healthy in their relationship. In fact, it was one of my favorite aspects to this story. Respect is so vital in a relationship and loved seeing it being represented. The emotion in this book is very heartfelt. You will feel the struggle that these characters go through, but more than that you see their growth and journey together and finding different ways to heal and become more empowered in such a precious way that felt so relatable.

What I Struggled With
Nothing. LOL This book worked for me in every way.

Narration
These two CAPTURED this book perfectly! Honestly, if you love audiobooks, please do this one in Audio. You won’t regret it. They really reflected the emotion just right and built the dynamics of the relationships involved in a way that resonates on a deep level.

Overall View
Ashes Of You is a romance that will resonate deeply. Its a story of seeing the power of healing and love in a manner that will sing deeply to the heart and soul of the reader. A TRULY MAGNETIC TALE TO MELT YOU FROM HEAD TO TOE!

Favorite Quote(s)
“It’s you, Blue. You’re the one who brought me out of the ashes. It’s always been you.”

“Can’t imagine doing life without you. Not now. Hallie, you’ve ruined me. But I’d burn myself to ash over and over if it meant getting you in the end.”

I wrapped my arms around his waist, my fingers fisting in his uniform shirt. But I didn’t say anything. Whispers of apologies didn’t come close to being enough. “Need to know you’re safe. Feel you breathing.” My heart broke for this strong, beautiful man with the best heart. “I’m right here, Blue. I’m right here.”

“We all have scars. Things that we think might make us weak. But, in reality, they’re usually the source of our strength.”

“Hallie, you’re the most stunning woman I’ve ever laid eyes on. Your kindness and empathy only make you more beautiful. But your bravery? It steals my breath.”

“Your eyes. I thought I could drown in all that blue, but it would be okay because there was only goodness there. Safety. Peace.”

 Quickie Review (May Contain Spoilers)

This was recommended through a friend, although originally I had this on a TBR for winter themed fantasy to read. I don't get a chance to read too much Eve Langlais, but this series has definitely held me intrigued. I did put this one off for a bit because I am not really a fan of assassin heroines, they just don't seem to resonate as well as male assassins do. However, pretty quickly I was swept away into this story and I do want to give much of the credit to the talented narrators. They really made this story just come alive so quickly for me. I also was so fascinated with how this author really built this story here. The plot was fascinating and the hero was a complete DREAM BOAT! I love me some sexy barbarians and he really embraced the role.

Now for the heroine. I wish I could have really loved this book. I wanted to love it, but the heroine was the type of character that you struggle with resonating with. You see what she has gone through but to be honest her character development was lacking. And she had a certain amount of glee when it came to killing, to the extent that you just don't see in assassin heroes. It shouldn't have been something she was excited to actually do. You also see minimal growth on her end which was disappointing. But despite the issues I had with this heroine, it was a fun time with this story and guarantee you will be laughing all over the place.

Capturing Tess was a really well done FF romance. You rarely see FF romances written like this and I am really enjoying this writing style that Anna Stone implements within her stories. They have such a edgier theme to them and I literally can't get enough of her books.

Capturing Tess is a kidnapping story but to protect her type of setup. There is some fun dynamics to the plot that is involved and many secrets that come into play. These two are a great dynamic and I liked that they had such different strengths that complimented each other so well. There is some fun suspense aspects that mixes just right into the story and is slowly revealed and not packed in all at once. So even if you aren't a big fan of suspense books, you will still enjoy this as it doesn't take away from the actual romance that is written here. If you love dark romance or billionaire romance dynamics and want to see how it would work for a FF pairing, definitely check it out.

Tempted by the Devil was such a BLAST of a book. Man now this is what I love this author for. Sometimes she can be a hit or miss...BUT when she hits it really packs a punch and I can definitely say that was the case with "Tempted by the Devil" This is a setup where our heroine is being abused and the hero comes in on his dark white horse and being a bit of a protector. He arranges a marriage with her abusive step brother and thus begins a deep and tender marriage between them. I adored how protective he is of her and so careful of her heart. He can be a really hard man, but he is just right with her, not pushing her too hard especially with all the abuse that she has suffered and giving her a place of peace and love which she hasn't ever had. The crime aspects is a bit brutal in this one, fair warning, but the actual romance is tender hearted and poignant in so many ways. Definitely a book to be a keeper for any shelf.

If you are a fan of mafia romance, then I can't recommend Michelle Heard enough!

 Quickie Review (May Contain Spoilers)

Better When He's Bold is the second book in the Point series and I absolutely had a blast with this one. It was satisfying and dreamy and packed with emotion. There is something about these "point" books that are just a bit more than Crownover's other works. I really adored the methods in which this author developed this story. There was so much going on in the story but at the same time its written in a way where it won't overwhelm the reader. I really admire her style of writing and how she crafts a story. There was so much grit within this story. At first I thought it would be so much angst, but there really isn't that much of it. Its only in the beginning of it, but their relationship really connects quickly so I wouldn't even term this angsty hardly except the first chapter. The hero is such a bad boy, like full on criminal haha and I actually enjoyed how this author built their connection. We see how our heroine is having to decide what she wants and who she is willing to fight for. We really see the change that these two go through and learning to find their place in the Point. I am kinda sad to be done with these books, because I had a blast with it.

So this book I had high hopes for but I also understood that this is one of her older books just with a newer cover and once you read it you know its not the writing she has been writing with recently. I am not sure how I feel about where she is going with Hannah to be honest. We shall see what happens if I want to continue or not *shrugs* But lets get back to Surrender.

I wanted to love Surrender. In fact, in the beginning it had such a solid start. I was immediately swept into the story and really enjoyed the whole "escape room" premise. However, once we get to the halfway mark, the story went downhill. It wasn't anything specific, the story just fell flat for me. It just seemed like there was so much raw energy to pull you into the story, and then it just fades into the background and I truly just became bored with the second half. It was disappointing to say the least. r

Bound by Tears was quite an interesting read. I really was glad to be bad to this world from this author. Not a fan of the new covers or anything, so I am sticking with these covers because they just represent the story more authentically.

I had a good time with this one. It starts off really emotionally intense and has such drama attached to it. I really felt for the heroine but she becomes very cold and prickly from the trauma she experiences. She was very unlikeable, but its understandable after you see what she goes through. I do understand why she felt the way that she does. Then we have our hero, who is such an alpha male and it was so delicious. I love how he centers the heroine, and sees the woman she hides underneath such a cold exterior. I really enjoyed how this development was captured within the story. The plot is well done and I liked how it connected to what happened in the previous book. There was some mystery, although some of what is resolved didn't really make sense. There was no
"why" explained behind the suspense portions and it felt a bit unsatisfying to not get the purpose behind everything.

Overall I had a good time with this one, not my favorite of the series, but it was a solid read.

First Impressions
Dane's Mark is the most recent installment in the "Breeds" series. This is my most anticipated release of the year and really lets be honest, the whole decade. I absolutely adored everything about this book. There was so much wild fun that was packed into this story. Now was it the best of the series? No and I think I enjoyed "Cross Breed" a bit more. However, there were so many positive elements to this book and it had some amazing reveals that made it well worth the wait.

First Line
If you're new to the Breed world, you don't have to begin at the beginning, starting here is fine.

The Main Protagonists
The Hero: Dane Vanderale
The Heroine: Katy Chavos

Summary
Katy Chavos had to practically raise herself, she lost her mother at a young age and never knew her father and was passed around different families in the town that she grew up in. Now she is just fighting to survive so she can leave the town as soon as she can and make something of herself. But there is someone else holding her to this town....Dane Vanderale. Dane is a man that she loves deeply but when he spurns that love, she leaves the town for good. Dane had his reasons for turning away from Katy, believing her to be too young and Dane trying to do what is right for his people. But never imagined the pain he would deal to Katy or the depth of her heart for him or how it would impact him. Now its been years, and Katy has made a woman of herself. She is confident and strong and empowered and has come back to oversee a building project she is in charge of. What she doesn't plan on is the connection between herself and Dane to be more powerful than ever. But Dane isn't going to let Katy go this time, and will fight for her no matter what it takes.

What I Loved
Dane's Mark was such a powerful story. From the beginning, you are swept immediately into this story with such deep impactful emotion. I was literally feeling the pain from this heroine and your heart will immediately want to fight for her. And man their beginning scene together just had me melting for them and what this would do to their relationship and that there would need to be some good groveling for him to redeem himself.

What I really enjoyed though was the fact that even though the heroine turns into a woman that isn't my favorite type of heroine, we still see plenty of vulnerable sweet moments with her so she ended up working for me. And you can see how much of the toughness stems from her protecting her heart due to how much Dane hurt her. But we do see such strength and resilience that comes from her character. You see the friendship that she has developed with others. Now do I think who she was before made her weak? Nope ...there is strength in being vulnerable with someone and having a softer personality. And we still see glimpses of that softer personality at times within in.

The plot was so fascinating though, there is a plot of danger that is after Katy. But there is also a dynamic of Dane and Katy working through their issues. The spice is on point and I really enjoyed that element of seeing them learning to trust each other and even though at times they hurt one another, it feels real in many ways. Then we have the reveals that come into this story. These reveals happen in the third act so it was really fascinating to see what Lora Leigh reveals in the story. I was so BLOWN AWAY by what is revealed. Like Lora Leigh throwing out any knowledge you may have of the Breeds and thrown it into the mixer and now you have something different and deep that you never expected would happen. Lora Leigh definitely doesn't pull any punches with this story at all. I am not sure where the author plans on taking the series moving forward, but its going to be wild and I am ready for it!

What I Struggled With
The heroine at times was a bit too hard but it didn't really take away from the enjoyment of the story.

Overall View
I found Dane's Mark to be a brilliant story that captivated my heart from the beginning! Dane's Mark is a story that will enthrall you, guaranteed to pierce you deeply with impactful emotion and the plot growth will drive you wild! GET READY FOR A CRAZY ADVENTURE THAT BECOMES A TRUE GEM OF THE SERIES!

First Impressions
The Reaper is the second book in the series but is also the conclusion to the story involving Tristan and Morano while also leaving breadcrumbs of serial plot to guide you into what will be happening with book three. The Reaper literally starts off where "Predator" leaves off. The Reaper is less inner relationship angst which I really appreciated and more focused on our couple learning each other. This is where our couple really have more intention when it comes to their relationship. I really appreciate that. I never know what authors will do when it comes to focusing on one couple in more than one book but this author really focused on it correctly.

What I Loved
I am keeping this review a bit shorter so that I don't spoil too much of the plot. So I just want to focus on what I truly enjoyed about this book. I really enjoyed this couple's dynamic. I love how edgy it feels but you also know how full in they both are into the relationship despite that secrets and reveals that crop up between the story. Each of them have demons that they need to fight, but they are so sturdy together as a couple. We get some fun side character that really shines a beautiful life on this story. The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. The third act is packed with mystery and intensity and some crazy drama but its the type of setup that you can easily get behind and become so consumed by.

What I Struggled With
Nothing really. It wasn't quite as consuming as the first book so it didn't quite make it to 6 star rating, but I absolutely loved this one.

Narration
This had the same narration team as the first book and it was superb in every way. Really brought out the right vibes in the right places that fit just right.

Overall View
The Reaper is a stunning installment that brings in a great conclusion but also leads into what is next for the series. Its packed with thrills and mysteries, secrets and reveals, and a passionate love affair with just the right amount of edge to satisfy!
