 My Review:

What a most adorable story! I had so much fun with this one, it was a pure blast! It had so many adorable moments and I just loved the way that this one was written. It had a royal/bodyguard type of feel only the heroine was the bodyguard as the hero was attacked and almost killed, they are taken to a remote cabin in the countryside and spend two weeks together. There has always been a chemistry between them but because of their status they haven't been able to act on it until now when they are forced to be together.

There were so many endearing moments between this pairing, I just loved their sweetness. You don't expect this type of dynamic with a more kick ass heroine, but she wasn't your typical kick ass heroine. She had vulnerabilities and desires of the heart. The hero is beyond playful with her and such a sexy alpha male. I love how he fights for her in such a delicious way. The only issue I had with this one, was the character that made no sense. In the beginning of the story there is an entry of a little girl, but there is no real satisfying feel to her and it just didn't make sense to me why she was even put in this book at all.

Overall though I had a fun time with this book and was so entertaining and just plain romantic fun!

DNF Review:

I wanted to enjoy this one especially with all the instagram promotion graphics with the whole playboy hero and shy heroine well quite frankly the heroine isn't really shy. I really liked the hero, such a fun jerk playboy hero. But the heroine was NOT what was hinted at what we receive. If there is a shy heroine....I want the heroine ya know...SHY lol I expect her to be softer and sweet and more reserved. That wasn't really this heroine at all. After 40% I decided to set it aside. It just wasn't working for me and not really a fan of how this author has been writing heroines lately. I just might take a break from her writing for a while, I just don't think its working for me if I am DNF two books in this series in a ROW. That is never a good sign. But I also feel deceived, as there are certain expectations you have with a certain type of heroine. Maybe if the author or her PR team had been a bit more honest about the type of heroine, I would have enjoyed this more. It can be frustrating when you expect a certain type of character and are really excited for it and then not receive what you are excited for.

No review for this one since I read it so far back---2 months ago. Its the continuation of part one and so much adventure and love filled within its pages! I so want Melody and Apollo together.

DNF Review:

I wanted to love this one, even purchased the audio for this one and even with really good narrators...this book isn't for me. And quite frankly I am losing interest in this author. The heroine was a complete brat and the hero gets treated horribly by the women around him. I am not for authors writing men being abused. *shrugs* will be returning my audio copy. This author doesn't really even write westerns at all, its just really small town and her writing just isn't for me that much. I do think she is losing her touch which I think can happen with hyped books. Best wishes though to her. I just think other than a couple of books in her previous series, the way she writes her heroines just turns me off. That style just isn't going to be for me unless she can start making them more likeable.

Quickie Review:

I found this one so intriguing and it was more of a random pick up read for me. I was just browsing KU and found this delightful read. I was intrigued by the setup so I knew that I wanted try it out. I will say that this book was pretty likeable and if you have read this author before, then you will know her writing style. This author has a writing style that is pretty easy to get into (Similar to Anna Zaires, Meghan March), but this book starts out so SLOW. It takes a while almost 25% before our couple even meets each other. Once they do meet each other, it was a fun wild ride. I really had a blast. It has some great alpha vibes and I liked the whole stripper/actor pairing. It really worked really well. I did find the pacing of the story a bit off, but the audio narration was pretty decent as well. The ending of the story was my favorite part of the story. It literally left me in swoony tears, so heartfelt. One of my favorite proposals ever done.

 My Review:

Devil's Gate was really charming novella of the Elder Races. I really loved these two dyanmic and how they interacted with each other. And I don't think I have ever read of a medusa heroine before and it was so fun. It wasn't like the myths, her snakes are rebellious but not dangerous to others. But they really love Vampyre Duncan, whom she has a chemistry with. Its almost like they know what is destined before she knows and I just had a hoot of a good time seeing how they reacted to him. It was so hilarious yet endearing.

I really enjoyed the plot of them going out to rescue her sister from a very bad situation and the way that they worked together, and unlike some of the previous novellas, I really fell hard for this couple and wish we gotten more of them together.

Overall I had a fun time as a fan of the Elder Races and eager to explore more of this series!

First Impressions
Say Its Forever is the second book in her 'Redemption Hills' and this is Jud's book. I was really excited for his story after the first book, because he is the most broody of the brothers. Seeing his story come to life was just brilliant. I did buy this one in audiobook, and it just took a while to actually get to the story since its been a busy work week, but I finally was able to put this one on and had a blast with it. There is something about the way that this author writes, and its downright beautiful in every way. I know her writing style isn't for everyone, if you struggle with her writing style, do it in AUDIO. It just hits different. I actually won't physically read her books because I am afraid I wouldn't get into it. But in Audio its just a delightful experience. This couple completely humbled me. It was such a humbling experience because you have TWO tortured characters who just deserve a happy ending more than most couples you see.

I wanted her in a way that wasn’t right. In a way that slanted dangerous. In a way that was at odds with every damned thing I’d been living for.

First Line
It was just before ten when I slowed my bike and made a right onto Dawson.

The Main Protagonists
 The Hero: Jud
 The Heroine: Salem

Where I felt the world falling away and the steady beat of this man taking its place.

Summary
From the moment that Salem meets Jud in the middle of a rainstorm with a broken down car, there is a instant chemistry that so quickly builds into a firestorm but Jud and Salem both have broken pasts and trust is a leap of faith neither of them know if they can take a risk on. Salem has come home to her brother after years of being on the run from her dangerous ex who was once her high school sweetheart. He is the father of her daughter, who is the greatest danger to them. Jud has a past of being forced to commit horrible acts to protect his family and lost the only family he had because of it. But just when Jud and Salem are starting to find common ground with each other and learning to trust, their pasts collide in the most horrific of ways, but will their love be enough to overcome the tests about to threaten to break it apart?

"Since the moment I found you, you've been the only thing I could see."

What I Loved
This book completely BLEW me away. I still don't know what I think about it yet in some ways because this author wrote a true treasure of a read here and once you get into it, you aren't going to want to put it down at all. It was so epic in so many ways, and this author definitely knows how to bring the emotion to the surface for the reader in a way that will break your heart but at the same time heal it in the next breath. My heart bled for both Jud and Salem, they both have really gone through hell and back for those they love. I just admired their inner strength and passion and never giving up no matter what life threw at them. But this third act, had me at the edge of my seat and gasping all over the place. I just wanted so much for Jud and Salem to find their way despite the secrets that come revealed and the connection. And once you discover what they go through, man, it hurts the heart to see what they go through. But the author really delivers on such a satisfying ending to solidify the joy in their connection and what makes them such a beautiful team together.

And lastly I want to mention the moments with the kiddies. My HEART!!! It really added some balance of light and laughter to a story that was very serious and emotionally centered. The relationship that forms between Jud and Selena's young daughter was beyond precious. It melted me in every single way.

Some choose light in this life, Salem, others choose darkness. And some? Some get lost along the way, but inside of them, they burn with the fire of goodness.

What I Struggled With
The only thing I struggled with is how flakey the heroine was at times, she was always ready to leave him at a moments notice and it just seemed like the hero was willing to give everything for her and she didn't quite return it as much as I think he deserved. I know she was running scared but he was such a fighter and she felt a bit flakey in some instances, it was just enough to keep it from a 6 star read for me.

“Sometimes the scariest journeys are the ones where the lost finally find the right path to lead them home.”

Narration
BEAUTIFUL AND CAPTIVATING in every single way! The way that these two narrator this author's stories is so endearing and poignant and they really bring out the lyrical writing so well.

Overall View
Say Its Forever is a romance that will make you swoon, leave you breathless and yet yearning for more from Jud and Selena. Its a tale of true loss, growth in the moments of hellfire and learning to take the leap of faith into love's arms. A GEM OF STUNNING LOVE!

“Say it’s forever. It’s forever, baby. Today, tomorrow, and always.”

Steam/Spice Explanations

Simmering cup of tea---soft warm touches and light intimacy
Warmin' by the fire- a medium level of sexual tension, a balance of sexual and emotional intimacy, lighter on the details in the sexual moments.
Steamin' up the room -the sexual content is more explicit in the language and tone, heavier amount of sexual scenes.
Blazing fire to the building-The prime focus is the sex scenes, scorching hot, and could burn one. Less focus on the emotional intimacy to the relationship.

 My Review:

Deepest Kiss is another novella in the "Stark Saga" that features our epic pairing of Damien and Nikki. We also get some introduction to some characters to some of her other books that I haven't read. We also get some fun times with Jackson and Sylvia.

I really had a fun time with this one, and I loved the connection and background that we get for Nikki and seeing her reconnect with her past and there were some spooky moments in this book that definitely will keep you at the edge of your seat. I was really fascinated to see the next step in their story and we also see Nikki starting to yearn for some kids (I am not sure she has written anything with them having kids, I hope one day she does because they would be awesome parents).

This really focuses on learning to trust and standing by each other through times of uncertainty. I can't wait to see what else we get from this couple.

 My Review:

Natural Evil was quite an interesting read here. I was really intrigued to get back to the Elder Races and I have really fallen behind on this series. The premise of this story sounded so intriguing. I was immediately drawn into this story (one thing I can truly depend on with this author) I really liked the idea of the heroine saving the hero when he is tortured and injured and in his Wyr form. The heroine I truly love because even though she is strong and has a military background she still resonated strongly and I loved her blend of strength and a kind heart.

The chemistry that builds between these two was so fun to watch but my issue with this story is that it wasn't executed or resolved very satisfactorily. I just didn't feel the connection between them as much as I would have liked. The second half of the story just fell flat for their romance. It probably needed another 50 pages to add more to the relationship and the ending just was so rushed.

 My Review-

This was quite an interesting novella, but is probably my least favorite that I have read from this author so far. I honestly still don't how I think of it to be honest. I know Nikki wants to be independent and all, but you are never independent when you are in a committed relationship, you share in that. But this book is kinda a retelling of "Its a Wonderful Life" where she wonders her life would be like without Damien, and if she would be successful or if he is holding her back. She goes through this journey of not having him in her life, and its a journey of them realizing that their love is destined and that they are to help each other in the successes of life. That they only give each other strength and joy and support and their love doesn't remove anything from anyone. I found it quite intriguing how they came to this realization and the retelling twist was different.
