Summary
Max Malone is a respected reporter and he searches for the truth and not rumor. But the latest scandal involving a senator who is gunning for President leads him to Beartooth Montana. He is driven to find the truth behind the Senator's late wife who has come back from the dead, with no memory of the past 20 years. Buck Hamilton remarried and his second wife became the mother to his six daughters. Buck is out to do the right thing, and knows that he would make a good President that would benefit the country. He is torn between the love he has for both of the women he loves. Buck knows that he will soon have to make a choice, but there is mystery surrounding Sarah Hamilton. Max joins forces with Kat Hamilton, one of Buck and Sarah's daughters. Kat is suspicious about her mother, especially when she and Max start investigating her and find suspicious clues that don't put Sarah in the best light. Kat wants to be happy that her mother is alive and well, but she doesn't know what to believe. With the help of the local Sheriff and his wife, they start to put some of the clues together and find a nest of terrorists who are out for a big bang and Kat and Max will need to discover who the threat really is and if it involves her mother or not....
The Hero
Max Malone is a journalist, although many see him as one of those gossip rag reporters, Max is much more reserved than that. Max has always made it his mission to search for the truth in the most honorable way that he can. It isn't easy for him, but he makes a decent living, and knows that he goes with his career with a clear conscience. But even though he is on a job, his attraction to Kat is true. He has mixed feelings because as he joins forces with Kat, desire and emotional attachment begins to form, and if he wants to have his career and the woman that he loves he will need to tread carefully, especially when it involves her family in the case. Max is a hero you can admire and highly respect. He is the type of hero any woman would be thrilled to find. He is loyal, honest, and has a good heart. He doesn't suguar coat things but at the same time is diplomatic when needed.
The Heroine
Kat Hamilton, is a photographer and a good one at that. She is currently working on getting her work out to the public for auction. Kat is one of six of Buck Hamilton's daughters. She has always known privelage and wealth, but has never let that overcome who she is. Kat is close to her family, most especially her sisters. She has a dividing line between her real mother and her step mother. Kat is a heroine that keeps her head in the game and doesn't let emotion overcome common sense. I liked that she could remain logical but at the same time still feel emotional in the right moments. She doesn't hide from who she is or how she feels. She is forthright and honest and this is where we find a commonality between Kat and Max. Kat hides part of herself from others though, but never from herself or her family. She had a traumatic past, that changed her and made her wary of men. But Kat can't deny her feelings for Max or what he stirs in her.
Plot and Story Line
Lucky Shot was a most interesting read and I am thrilled that I got a chance to pick it up. I was able to get it through Netgalley, and I am thrilled I snatched it up and didn't let it pass by. For one, it was different and refreshing in ways I honestly didn't expect. The romance isn't the primary element in the story, but I felt okay with that to be honest. Normally I wouldn't, but Lucky Shot had a unique feel to it that I couldn't put it down. The mystery and intrigu portions of the story is what really drives this book and I couldn't help but wonder who was really behind everything. I will point out that there is a bit of a cliffhanger. Now in regards to the couple, we have a mix of HFN and a HEA---as far as Max and Kat are concerned so that was simething I was definitely on board with. I do want to point out about the heat level. There isn't much heat as I was expecting, but it was a refreshing level of heat. But the cliffhanger is in regards to the mystery around Sarah Hamilton. Which I have a feeling the next book will pick right off where this one has ended (at least I am crossing my fingers on that one).
What is most interesting is Max and Kat stumbling across a conspiracy of a group of terrorists that has been in the makings for over 30 years. That was quite a fascinating twist, and we learn this from the beginning. But what really puzzles this reader is that I am still not sure about the mother yet. I really want her to be good and clean, and there is some mystery around her being framed, but there is still danger from beginning to end. Max and Kat definitely have their hands full and we begin to see the puzzle slowly come together but you are left with more questions. But not in a super frustrating way, but in the type of circumstance where its a mix of teaser and cliffhanger to encourage you to read the next book. I normally don't go for that sort of feel, I hate loose ends in a story. But B.J. Daniels really handled the ending in such a brilliant way and she weaves a story that you can't seem to get enough of. I would highly recommend this to any mystery or contemporary romance lover.
The Cover
This is my favorite cover of the series. First off, that man is drop dead gorgeous, and I love the slight scruff....SEXY as all get out. Love his confident pose with the ranch countryside background. Love it.

Lucky Shot is a beautifully woven story that is compelling and intense in emotion and mystery. It will keep you guessing and give you shocks and delights from beginning to end. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Wicked Ride is the first installment of Zanetti's latest series. This is also tied with the Dark Protector series. So if you loved that series than you will have a ball of fun and giggles with Wicked Ride. I had this book sitting on my e-book shelf for the longest time, and I decided I definitely needed to pick it up and am thrilled that I did. This was an amazing story and I just couldn't get enough.
Both of the main characters are what really make this story golden. They are both protectors and fighters for their people. So despite the fact that at first they seem to be on opposite ends, they really end up being quite perfect for each other in those unique ways. And boy do they like to fight each other.
“You like to play with fire, Alexandra?”
Quite honestly, Alexandra knocked my socks off and I loved every minute of her (for the most part). She is kick ass and boy does she know how to fight, but she also has a chip on her shoulder. Her father was a drug dealer and abused their mother and could care less about his own kids. Her mother has been in medical care. Both Alexandra and her sister Tori have had to find their own ways of dealing with their pasts. Alexandra fights bad guys to deal with it. But I will say she tends to go a bit overboard and overreacts in huge ways.
”You leap to conclusions faster than a Blue Hare during mating season.”
I mean really, Kellach is one patient Irishman. I loved him even more for it though. He is sexy and fun and lighthearted when he needs to be. There is quite a lot going on that I don't want to reveal too much in this story. But I will say, that this drug is definitely a bad one. So we see how desperate people are to get this off the streets. The side characters were such fun and added a sense of lightheartedness to a danger-filled plot. We have Kellach's two brothers. Then we have Alexandra's sister and her partner. And each character was unique and added a balance to the story that was needed and heartfelt at times. I just couldn't get enough of Wicked Ride and am so excited for the next book.
“I like you too.” She blew out air. “I trust you, Kellach Dunne. I’m keeping you.”

Summary
Jane Chance, is looking for security and a family. Unlike her sister, Jane isn't out looking for love, because love doesn't feed or clothe you or put a roof over your head. Jane is one of the Ton's most regal beauties, and at the beginning of the season she is made an offer from a man that is looking for a beautiful wife and he wants Jane and he has wealth. But all Jane can see, is a man that offers a safe harbor for herself and her children. While out on the town, giving children pennies so they can have food, she spies a dog being tortured and beaten and runs into a gypsy, a man that is handsome and charming with a wicked gleam in his eyes and she can't resist him. Zachary Black has returned back to England, after years of service to the crown. But he comes back learning, that he will need to clear his name before he can access any of his titled lands or wealth. But after his meetings with Jane in the park almost every day, he sees the kind of woman he would be honored to know more and even love. But his life is in turmoil, and when he learns that she is betrothed, he knows that his time is running out....and Jane will have to decide over security or the man of her heart?
The Hero
Zachary Black, is a spy and worked for the British Government in collecting information that helped save his country. For years he dedicated his life, risking it every day, for his country. But when he returns, he finds out that he has been accused of murder of his father's widow whom he helped escape and go into hiding. He knows that she is alive, and that its absurd that he could be hanged for a murder he never committed. With his father dead, Zachary is on the hunt for Cecily and all at the same time trying to court a woman that doesn't really want to be courted by a poor gypsy. Zachary is a hero I came to truly enjoy from beginning to end. Zachary is honorable and good, and loyal. He has a solid sense of humor, and respects those that protect and defend Jane even if its against him. I couldn't help but fall for his charisma, he is devilish in his charming nature and I just wanted more of him.
The Heroine
Jane Chance, is a woman that on the outside it may seem that she has had everything handed to her on a silver platter, but that is not the case. Jane and her sister grew up poor. Their parents fell in love, and went against the Ton and married for love. Their families disowned them, and refuses to help them. Jane and her sister lost their parents when they were kids, and had to fight to survive. Jane was rescued by a generous lady of the Ton, that adopted four women as her nieces and gave them a chance to make good matches for themselves. Jane takes the first offer given to her. Because the one thing she values above everything else, is a safe home but not just for herself. But for any future children she may have. She knows that love can develop over time. So she doesn't hold out for it. I loved that Jane holds onto her principles. She can be quite stubborn though, but she has reasons that you admire in the end. And I love how she fights in the end for what really matters and there is a moment toward the end of the story where we see her strength and fortitude and I wanted to cheer for her!! A fabulous heroine I couldn't help but admire and respect.
Plot and Story Line
The Spring Bride is the third book in the series. There were many things that I love about this one. The first aspect I grew instantly in love with, is the writing. Anne Gracie has the capability of gaining my interest immediately, and I just couldn't put this one down, no matter how hard I tried. I loved that. I couldn't help but just gravitate toward this pair and all the stress and drama that tends to come with them.
In the beginning of their relationship, its mostly getting to know each other, making each other laugh and developing a platonic bond, but there is chemistry, just one that they don't act on immediately. Than we have some secrets become revealed, which only adds to a bit of conflict to them fully coming together. Zachary has to clear his name and get his lands returned to him. Jane is betrothed and needs to decide which man she would take a risk on more. Zachary ups his game when it comes to Jane, he knows that he is running out of time, and goes out of his way to prove himself to her. But when the worst happen, and Jane will have to find Cicily herself, we see a personal growth in Jane's character we didn't see before.
What is most fun was seeing two other couples....one having been married for years and seeing their love stronger than ever and how it gets tested in unique ways. Then we see a hint of Daisy's story as well (I have a feeling that one is going to be a riot). We have some great involvement from the supporting characters. We also see a sweet reunion between the sisters and their grandmother. It broke my heart about their parents, but we also see some good things come out of their rough childhood. We see how Zachary is strong and didn't have the easiest when he was a child either. He was beaten often by his father, and understands Jane in ways that her betrothed never will.
This proved to be a truly remarkable romance that spun its way into my good graces with flair, drama and good chemistry and some barrels of laughs and giggles. Excited to see what Gracie has up for us next.
The Cover
This cover is so gorgeous and I love the spring feel to it. I love the elegance and grace it portrays. I wish I could just jump into all that lavender goodness!!

Plot and Story Line
Last Breath is the second thrilling installment in the Last Hit Series. And WoW!! That is all I want to say for this book. I was completely blown away by this one. Jessica Clare joining up with Jen Frederick have written a heart pounding suspense romance that will keep its readers on their toes from the first to last page. I just couldn't get enough of this story and it captivated me from the beginning. This does contain some tough issues on sexual slavery so it's not for the faint of heart. But what a read!! Loved every single moment while listening to this one.
The story kicks off, with Regan for a while. We see her side of things, from the beginning really. Seeing what she has gone through over the months was simply heartbreaking...but what I loved about Regan is that she never stops fighting. Most women eventually would. But not Regan. She has this inner strength you have to admire. Before she was kidnapped she was just a sweet and kind woman and went with the flow. But this experience has definitely changed her to fighting for herself and those she cares about. Our hero is such a great match for her. Daniel is ex military, became a hit man, and for long eighteen months has been searching for his sister while rescuing any of the woman he can along the way. But Regan is the first that he is drawn to. In Daniel's mind, Regan is unique. Because she is a fighter, when all the other women he has rescued have become like dolls...no life anymore. Just existing. But Regan is determined, strong and courageous. The attraction between these two is very obvious and vibrant. But after Regan's experiences, they take it slowly. And I really admired that. It fit with the setting of the story and the characters. Just because you are attracted doesn't mean you just jump into bed right away. I liked that these two learn each other both emotionally and physically.
This story has alternating POV between the hero and the heroine which I really liked. I love seeing both sides of the story, from both the hero and the heroine's personal perspective. The romance is sweet at times and very emotional and I really liked that. It had its poignant moments, but some flirty and fun ones too!! The suspense is pretty intense at times and is good enough to get your heart racing. I loved these moments, seeing these two fight together and protecting each other. We also get to see Nikolai and Daisy and meet two new hitman (that are heroes in the next two books). This was a blast of a romance that rocked my world!!! Intense, gratifying, and sassy!!
Narration
I don't always like the change in narrators, but these two were just perfect!! I want more from both of them. I loved both of their voices, and they handled the story very well. Especially with all that goes on with this one, they portrayed the story in the perfect way. I hope that they do the next books too.
The Cover
I really like this cover and man that hair!!! I just want to run my hands through it. I love the intensity of the cover with the gray background and the colored titled writing.

Summary
Victoria Andrews lives like a prisoner in her own home because she can't bear to go outside due to an incident that happened five years previous. She stays indoors and works on her designs for clothing and unique lingerie and sells her work to a dressmaker based in London. She loves what she does and is good at it, but her family needs the funds. With her father away to war, their debts are piling up and they need a steady income to make it by. Jonathan Nottoway, the Duke of Worthington, is shot while trying to survey his land and get around the scandal that surrounds his family. He ends up being taken in by Victoria Andrews, a man that needs her help if he wants to live. Victoria never opens her home to strangers, but when she notices that he needs help she overcomes her fears and aids him by sewing his wound with bright pink thread.
"We've done this all wrong, haven't we?" he murmured "I've ruined you, and I haven't even touched you."
"You haven't ruined me."
"Haven't I?" His voice was warm velvet, a caress in the dark. Never had she imagined that she could stand before a man looking at her in this way. As if he wanted her.
Victoria and Jonathan end up helping each other, but there is scandal and mystery surrounding them. Will Victoria be brave enough to be the kind of wife that Jonathan needs inside and outside of the bedroom?
The Hero
Jonathan, recently took his title of being the Duke of Worthington. With his parents gone, he steps up. Jonatha came up to Scotland to make a new purchase on a home, but all the tenants that were booted out from the previous owner, now blame him and so he can't reveal his true identity or they will probably kill him. He has already been shot, but he doesn't know who or why. Jonatha was a hero I loved. He is such a rake but still is honorable too. He likes to aggravate Victoria just to see her blush, he is upbeat and has an easy going personality. It was interesting seeing his certain character traits come through. He is drawn to Victoria because she sees more than just a "Duke" she sees a real human being and he just wants more of her.
She deserved better than to become his mistress. He needed a wife, but not one who secluded herself from the rest of the world. He required a woman who understood the intricacies of London Society, who could fulfill her duties as a hostess and provide the requisite heir and the spare. There were dozens of ladies who could easily assume that role.
And yet, when Victoria's hand moved to touch his heart, he wished that wife could somehow be her.
The Heroine
Victoria lives in fear of going outside. She suffered a trauma where she was left alone after an accident for days to wander. And now every time she gets even close to the door, she gets panic attacks and can't breathe. She is realistic in realizing that she will never be courted and be able to go to London with her family. Her mother and sisters leave for London for the Christmas holiday and Victoria is left with a few servants. Victoria doesn't live a meaningless life just because she can't go outside. She creates beautiful and erotic lingerie. She doesn't care if its scandalous...it makes good money, money that her family needs ever since her father went off to war. I had mixed feelings over Victoria. In many ways, I liked her, and I understand why she felt she needed to stay indoors. I grew to like her more as the story progressed. But at the beginning, I wasn't sure what I thought of her. She seemed very hesitant to help Jonathan when he was in need or even innocent people who were being burned out of their homes. But she eventually comes to terms with many strangers in her home and adapts.
Plot and Story Line
Undone By The Duke is a heart warming romance that I grew to fall in love with. There were many aspects of this story that I fell in love with. This is the first installment of the series, which is based on Andrews family and the events surrounding them. I found this installment very interesting. This is not the first time I have read this author. I read the fourth book, Unlaced by the Outlaw and really liked it and I wanted to return back to this family.
It sets off with seeing the closeness that Victoria has with her family, especially her sisters but her mother as well. They leave for London and try to convince her to go along with them. However, Victoria knows that it isn't possible. From the very beginning of the story we see how real her fear is. It's not the type of fear that you can easily overcome especially since its been five years since she has gone outside. When she is left alone, she ends up having to help an injured man who has been shot. This is where I started to not like the heroine as much. I felt like she was a bit cold feeling when it came to helping others. But in retrospect I think it was just the way that she dealing with the turn of events, because she does eventually help him. We also get an introduction into the events surrounding Jonathan and the reasoning behind why he was shot. There are tenants that Victoria's family offered to give sanctuary too. But suddenly they are being burned out of their cofter homes and many are being killed and they seek refuge in the only home around...Victoria's sanctuary. This is where we see growth in her character. She starts to soften and open her heart to others with the aid of Jonathan.
What was also fun was seeing their romance blossom. At first they don't care for each other too much, but their is attraction and as they spend more time together, their connection becomes stronger. I was enchanted by Jonathan and is willingness and patience with Victoria and her fears. Most men would just shrug them off, but he doesn't. He takes them very seriously. Because deep down he wants to marry her but he also knows he has to find a way to help her overcome her fears and I was charmed by the way he goes about it.
"Why would a man in your position ever marry a woman like me? A woman who can't even walk outside!"
"Because she saw the man not the duke."
The situation with the cofters, just about broke my heart. We see the trauma and how determined these people were to survive and stay in their homeland. They are a proud people, but they also just want to live on land that has been their home for generations. We see their side of the story, and with the way that the author writes it, you can't help but feel compassion for them. Their story is real and she does a job well done in showing how desperate their situation was back then.
We also see one other side plot that is building. That is with Vicotria's mother and father. They once loved each other, but grew distant with each other. Each of them loves the other but don't know how to show it. Probably due to the fact that they haven't talked for many years. And I am hoping to see more of this relationship because I grew intrigued by it. Just seeing hints of their story, makes me eager to read the second book. But there is one thing I really had issues with when it comes to this book...the ending. Now I can be picky about endings, but I felt like it was a bit off, and a bit rushed. It didn't quite fit with the rest of the story.
The Cover
I will admit this is my least favorite cover of the series. It's probably why it took me so long to read it. I do like the background with the lake and the mountain, but I don't really like the bright red and white.

Undone By The Duke is an exciting tale of romance, adventure, learning to overcome your fears to embrace a thrilling future. Its about sacrifice and the tests of true love.

Summary
Zane Cutter has been working on finding the ultimate treasure on a ship torn apart years ago from a hurricane. But he needs an engine specialist, Teal Williams. Teal Williams has been working for Zane's brother for quite some time, but she doesn't like being on the sea since she gets seasick and she doesn't trust Zane and his "intentions" further than she can throw him. At first she refuses to go along because she has issues with the "Caribbean Casanova" who tends to have women flirt around him no matter their age. But she can't resist the temptation of jewels and gold and having a chance to prove Zane. While, on their dive, both Zane and Teal are attracted to each other, but there are outside influences that tend to drive them apart. Zane has enemies, vultures that are circling for the treasures hidden below. Zane and Teal show how explosive they are together, but right when they feel their treasure hunt is going well....a new and dangerous enemy comes on the horizon and Zane might lose everything he has worked for and the woman he loves...
The Hero
Zane Cutter is one of the three cutter brothers who have taken life by the storm and embraced his passion for searching for lost treasures under the sea. He had his brothers to watch his back and they have a tight bond, despite who their father was. Their father was a womanizer, and had a woman in every port. They lost their mother after she tried to obtain a divorce and was killed shortly after. Zane is driven and devoted to his passion. He loves women, and he doesn't hide that fact, but he also can't deny his feelings for Teal. A woman that tries not to be a woman but is sexy in her own way and has that sensual appeal that calls out to him. He loves that she doesn't need a ton of makeup or a fancy hair to be full on woman. Zane is also a fighter and creates one hell of a battle in his determination to win Teal over.
The Heroine
Teal Williams loves to tinker with things and immerse herself in books. She married at a young age, and she learned quickly that her husband at the time wasn't okay with who she was. He wanted to change everything about her....from her diet, to makeup and hair and when he wanted her to get a boob job she had enough. She walked out on him and his emotional abuse he had dished out to her. Then she realized how important it was to be true to herself. On one crazy night, she had wild sex with Zane when he was overshot with drinking. Over the years, Teal has fallen in love with Zane. But refuses to let him know it, because he is a womanizer and she would just be another peg on his bedpost. But after searching through the ocean bed for lost treasures, she sees Zane in a new light. I really enjoyed Teal as the heroine...she was the right match for Zane. Spirited, strong, and tended to let her emotions gain control especially when jealosy came around the corner. I loved her sassiness and her loose tongue and not afraid of being herself.
Plot and Story Line
Undertow was such a fun and thrilling adventure that I couldn't get enough of. There were many things about this that reminded me of one of my all time favorite adventure authors: Clive Cussler. So if any of you have read Cussler, Cherry Adair is similar only much more romantic tone to it. We have a treasure hunt beneath the sea....with three sexy brothers, some dangerous villains, a military secret and some wild sensual drama that keeps you hungering for more. What more do you need right? Well after reading Undertow I have become hooked on this author...she is simply phenomenal and writes suspense in the way that it should be written. I couldn't get enough of the sense of adventure and mystery.
There was so much energy that was portrayed through this story, and the details so vividly written, I could almost imagine myself diving and finding those lost treasures like Zane and Teal do. As a whole there were many aspects of the story that made this story amazing to read. We have a stimulating plot that is full of unexpecting thrills, drama and mystery. We some dangers that come and the way that Zane, Teal and the other members of his crew handle any situation that is thrown their way.
The romance that builds between Zane and Teal is full of storms and waves and it isn't easy seeing these two find a reasonable compromise. There are misunderstanding and conflict, but there is also passion and depth to it. Zane will use any weapon at his disposal to get to Teal. Teal at first wants nothing to do with Zane, because she doesn't trust easily and she knows the way women are with him. She is afraid of trusting and getting hurt again. But what I liked about this book, was seeing how Teal's nontrust in Zane doesn't drag too much which is what I was afraid of at first. But boy the chemistry between these two is explosive and I couldn't get enough of seeing it.
"Do NOT think ou can just stroll in here whenever you like, and kiss m--"
"Haven't kissed you." His voice was low and velvety, his eyes seemed to flow demonically in the dim light "Yet." He cupped her face between his palms and pulled her mouth up to meet his. This kiss wasn't suggestive, or insidious. He went from zero to a hundred in point zero seconds. Heat scalded her body as he plundered her mouth in a ravishing kiss that curled her toes and set her entire body on fire.
"The prospect of sex with you is making me irrational and so horny I can't think straigh. You're...damn. I can't explain this; you're like coming home."
I loved the side characters that play a role in the story. We have the two brothers Logan and Nick both are a bit more reserved and closed off than Zane. Zane is more upbeat and social. Nick and Logan are deep but quieter and I can't wait to see more of those two. We also have the adopted parents of these boys Ben and Maggie. Oh Maggie....I loved her. She was enchanting and sweet and protective of those boys but she loves Teal and plays a bit of a matchmaker.
This was a wild and adventuresome romance that had me by its tails from the first page. I can hardly wait to read more from this author.
The Cover
I love the style of this cover...and really the whole series. With the bottom seeing the whole "under the sea" diving aspect that is a major part of the story. Then the top that is sexy and love his pose of the effect of the hero running his hands through his hair....I want him hehe

Undertow is the first book in a thrilling new series that is packed with adventure, treasure seeking, dangerous thrills and a sexy romp of a romance beneath the sea!!! HIGHLY THRILLING!

This was the first time that I had a chance to try out this author and I was highly impressed. I loved it. It was such a enjoyable story and I loved what happens in this story. I was pretty glad that I was able to get this in narration format. The set up of the story was quite unique, and the first time I saw a teacher and parent of a student in a romance...so that is always a plus. The narration was interesting to listen to. I will be honest, I am still not sure what I think of the narrators. There were two since there was alternating POV's. But I wasn't able to really enjoy them fully like I wanted. Probably because I felt like they just didn't quite fit. However I loved what Douglas does with the plot here. We have when they first meet at a social function where Easton is out to socialize for her brothers sake. She is still in school so she can be a teacher. But then she meets a mysterious stranger and right when she leaves she learns who he really is Tyler Merrick---successful business and trying out to be a senator for elections soon. And he makes a promise that when they meet up next he won't be letting her go. Skip ahead six months, Easton is a teacher and Tyler has a fourteen year old son. She has unconventional teaching methods and he doesn't like them. Sparks fly, tensions rise and passion explodes. These two make for a wild and explosive combination. Tyler is alpha male all the way and Easton is fiery. I did like the "forbidden romance" feel to the story. We also see the buidling of a relationship between Tyler and his son Christian. This was such a unqiue story and I savoured every minute I had in this story....highly recommend. Its sensual....emotionally driven with stunning characters and a story that won't let the reader go until the end!!
