I have read a few books by Kathleen Eagle, and I think there has only been one or two that I ended up satisfied with. What The Heart Knows started out ok, and I was hoping it would just get better, but the flow was uneven and static at times. The story line was the best part of the book, but I just felt from beginning to end I had to force myself to get through it, I almost gave up on it, but I stuck with it, hoping it would get better however I only ended up in a spirit of frustration and how I seemed to get lost at times, and I felt like there could have more substance to the characters. I hope the next book I read from this author is much better.
Zayne, a Djinni, the minstrel for his people, but of late his song has been wreaking discord among his people, and his music needs to restore balance to his world. But then he starts feeling the yearning of his mate, one who is living on Earth, and knowing that she can restore balance and be his other half, he goes to her, intending on claiming and keeping her as his own and taking her back to his home. However things don't always go as planned. Madeline, never expected that when she agreed to house sit for her friend, but never thought that there would be a guest she would have to live with, a man who is so sexy you could have a heart attack from all the sensations he sends out. However Madeline is firm in her belief that nothing can get to her, no matter how sensual a man may be, but life throws unexpected surprises and Zayne will not only be her downfall in love but will help heal scars from her past and where she will find a love that will leave her spellbound to his side....Spellbound is the fourth installment in the Djinn series written by Kathleen Nance. Spellbound is a story woven with magic and love and filled with thrilling excitement that will curl your toes, and leave you bewitched. Spellbound is a story of two people that come from different worlds, however they are connected in a way that will save the both of them in the end. I had such a thrilling time reading Spellbound and I was captivated with the story, the characters and the plot that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time, and I was so entranced with the story that I could hardly put it down. Its a magical romantic story that will leave you satisfied and full of laughter until the very last page. Definitely a treasure to keep on your book shelves.
Moira Tyndale, grew up in a home where her actions were always judged and criticized. So she married a man out of convenience to get away from her family, especially her mother. In her marriage, they never consummated, but then her husband died and she became a widow. A couple years later when her Minnie, is in town for the season, Moira is her chaperone. At a ball one evening, she meets Wynthrope Ryland who asks her sister to dance, and Moira knowing how much older he is from Minnie, she that he can't. However Moira is shocked when he asks her to dance. Moira who is beautiful, sweet, has always had a low opinion of herself due to her families criticism of her. So she tells him "no" thinking that he just wanted to use her to get to her sister. But from the moment that Wynthrope enters Moira life, she knows that she will never be the same, for there is something too different about him. Wynthrope at first was planning on asking Minnie to dance, but upon meeting her sister Moira he is utterly mesmerized by her. He yearns to get to know her better, and when she returns his affections, thus starts their courtship. For a time Wynthrope is thinking that everything is going well, and he has finally found someone to spend his life with. But then his past comes back to haunt his present. His former boss threatens him that will harm his brothers and will harm Moira, if he doesn't steal a tiara that belongs to no other than his precious Moira. He has no idea, what to do, since he doesn't know how to steal something and not have Moira find out, and he is fearing losing her, since she is his salvation and his love.
I really enjoyed reading In The Night, it had a mysterious aurora about it, that just compelled me to read it. I loved how throughout this book, you see both the characters grow and change into something so better than before due to them falling in love. Moira has very low self esteem, and thinks that she isn't beautiful or desirable in any way. Once she meets Wynthrope that starts to change. We see her change into a beautiful beautiful from the inside out. Wynthrope is one of those that doesn't think he will ever find a woman that could ever love him for who he is. He was a thief in his past, although at first he was thinking he was working as a spy for the British Government. However, he doesn't know how to prevent his family and the one that he loves from getting hurt if he doesn't hurt Moira in the process by stealing her tiara. Kathryn Smith takes the reader on a journey of learning to love and trust, and how loving someone can give you the strength to overcome any challenge no matter how great or small. It was truly a satisfying and invigorating read that kept me turning the pages, and I couldn't put it down.

At this point all Kathie really knows is that she is falling for this Scot. Despite the fact that things are looking bright for them both, there are always obstacles in their path of true happiness, that will surely test them, but will it destroy or only make their bond that much stronger?
If I had to say one phrase of what this book was it would be "A Breath of Fresh Air", and I definitely had a hard time putting this one down, and I was on VACATION lol. So it definitely was one that I loved and definitely could be considered a re read for sure. I really enjoyed reading Katie MacAlister, her writing is so sexy yet fun too, that anyone can enjoy themselves reading her books. Both Kathie and Iain were both a delight to get to know throughout this fun fun story, and also I loved the surrounding as well. I have always loved reading anything that takes place in Scotland. I don't get to read too many modern romances that take place with the Scots. So its always fun to read these kind of stories. I don't read too many contemporaries, I am more of a fan of historical and the paranormal, and a bit time travel. But there are a few contemporary authors that I really enjoy reading from, and Katie MacAlister is definitely one of those! Also one other aspect I truly loved about reading this book, is that Kathie and Iain are so very different, definitely takes a new meaning to "opposites attract". Imagine if you will, a true born Scot, that comes into a relationship with a modern American woman, there is definitely misunderstandings that will definitely occur between this couple, but its way amusing to watch these two interact with one another.

Elsa knows that if she wants Howard enough she is going to have to fight for him or lose him Forever.......Wild About You is the most recent addition to the Love At Stake Series and I am so grateful to Avon Publishing and Edelweiss that I was able to get a copy of it. Especially since Kerrelyn Sparks is one of my favorite authors....and I just loved Howard's story....it was just right!!Wild About You is a wonderful love story that takes two people that have lived different lives, but upon meeting each other certain truths about themselves and their own history will come to light....I think I was always rooting for Howard, he has been a secret favorite of mine since seeing him in recent books in the series. So it was a delight to read his story, and I just loved how protective he was of Elsa and was willing to do anything to protect her and keep her in his life, and I just almost cried when I saw how gently and caring he treated Elsa....definitely a heartwarming love story that will seep its way into your heart....a story filled with action, some mystery, passionate and tender lovemaking, and a love story that will sing to you!!!! A Must Read!!!!
Patience has come to Blackfield Castle, to catalogue Viscount Blackfield's antique collect. As daughter of a man that is obsessed with Antiquities, she has learned much. So along with her cousin, they head to Blackfield's home. When Patience first arrives, she is surprised by the current state of things. There is odd noises all hours of the day and night, some of the maids acting as if any object will attack them at will, and when she first meets the Viscount, she believes him to be a vampire. However, she knows that her mind is just playing tricks on her, even if he is arrogant and brooding enough to be one. When things start to really get interesting she decides to start to investigate the strange occurrences. Thomas, senses that there is something strange about Patience. He suspects one of her party to be a french spy, trying to discover what he has managed to keep hidden so far. But when he finds her snooping around his castle, he thinks she is the spy, and despite the passion he feels for her...he will set out to prove her guilt and betrayal. Until love gets in the way...Even though The Viscount's Wicked Ways, was a very enjoyable read, I felt like there was something lacking. It seemed like there were so many great qualities about the story, but it didn't fall into place very well. I really liked the playful romance that develops between Patience and Thomas. However I didn't feel the normal spark that I usually find in Mallory's books. There was a strong plot that is put into the story, however there wasn't a smooth flow in the story. I really had very high expectations for this one, especially after reading the blurb and looking at the cover, I expected a remarkable read that kept my attention all through the story. However I found myself putting it down quite a few times, because I didn't really get fully into the story. Although there were a few aspects of the story that I did enjoy. First is I did like the story line, I always love a good espionage romance, and even though this one seemed a bit off, it was still fun to see how it turns out. I did like the imagination that the author uses in the book. Overall a enjoyable read, but not a fantastic one. One to relax into, but not one to stun the reader into falling in love with it. The Viscount let go of her and leaned negligently against the door frame. "And why would I do that? Of what do I need to take heed?" He leaned forward, his lips inches away from hers. "This is my domain, and I can take what I want..."
When Charlotte, accompanied by her maid, comes across Roman Merrick, she feels as if the earth as titled underneath her very own feet. He is dangerous and mysterious and she feels like he can see right through her to her soul. When her father loses to a card game, she is shocked to discover that her father gave her up for one night to the winner of the game. Charlotte is furious with her father but she also knows she must go and get it over with. When she arrives at her destination that evening, she is stunned when she finds out the man she is to spend her night with is none other than Roman Merrick. What surprises her most is that something within the deepest part of her awakens, not only a sensual desire, but a powerful love that makes her want to keep him in her life. Charlotte knows that their worlds are so far apart, she doesn't know if they could have a future together. She also is afraid of being hurt, she knows that all she wants is to hold Roman in her arms and hold him forever...One Night Is Never Enough is the second in the Secrets series by Anne Mallory. Now I am not sure if I have ever read from this author before now. I want to say I have, but if I had it would have been many years ago. So I am still unsure, but I am curious as to why I haven't read more from her. She is fantastic. I loved every moment of this, I felt like I was totally involved in the story and it was so enthralling at some points it was a challenge to put it down. I read it within a day easily, and I just fell in love with this captivating tale of sensual passion and a tender love that could just break your heart. Merrick is such a dangerous hero, he doesn't apologize for anything and from the beginning we see that once he wants Charlotte, he does everything to secure her. He has no regrets and I loved seeing such a bold hero, never afraid of anything. Charlotte is a fighter, she doesn't cower in fear when she is suppose to spend a night with a stranger. She has no idea who he is and what will happen, and just boldly goes in, with courage and zest and doesn't hold anything back. Frankly what happens that night really surprised me in a way. I never expected that certain outcome, but was definitely pleased and heart warmed to see such a strong hero be so tender and caring toward Charlotte. I just loved the way these two sparked and sizzled toward each other. It was such fun seeing them interact. The descriptions in the story weren't too bad, definitely made me almost feel like it was real. I did feel like there was a strong plot that takes the reader on a wild adventure. I was totally have a jolly good time from the first page to the last page. There was such a fresh and invigorating appeal to this story that had me charmed all the way through. A Page turner that will make you feel like you are falling in love for the very first time. A True Masterpiece!!! Definitely a must read for any who loved a sensual and adventurous love story.
Phineas, ever since he was turned against his will by the Malcontents has devoted himself to protecting the innocent and destroying those that desire to destroy everything they have built. After a failed run of trying to capture the queen of the malcontents, he finds out that she is located in Wyoming, where the nest of werewolves are, and he needs a guide or risk detection by the werewolves. So his guide happens to be the one woman he has had a crush on ever sine he met her, Brinley Jones, who escaped her father and ended up teaching young boys that were kicked out by the head pack leader her father. Now when Brinley and Phineas are thrown together, there is a chemistry that sparks up between them that leads to fireworks, but there is one problem....how can a werewolf and a vampire make it work? Phineas loves Brinley and will do whatever it takes to keep her in his arms...even if that means confronting her father, which may start a war.Wanted Undead or Alive is the most recent book by Kerrelyn Sparks. Sparks is probably one of my favorite authors to read when it comes to vampire romances. And I have to say ever since Phineas came onto the scene, I have been looking forward to his story, so I was way excited to get a chance to read and boy did I just love it. I must have read in a few hours, I was so into the story I couldn't get away, it just drew me like a bee to honey. One of the aspects that I really love was the conflict that is in the plot here, this story is a bit of a forbidden love type. Because of Brin's connection to the werewolves it is dangerous for her to pursue any sort of relationship with anyone her father would dissaprrove of because more than likely something dire would happen to him. But no matter how much Brinley tries to protect herself, she finds herself falling in love with him anyway. The only problem I had was the cover, its not very observant according to characteristics in the book. Since the hero is black not caucasian, but its still a hot cover! Overall Wanted Undead or Alive is probably one of my favorite books of the series so far. Definitely full of everything that makes for an Amazing read! Full of romance and passion, strong story plot, witty characters and enough excitement and danger to satisfy any's reader taste. A Winner!!!!

When all is revealed to her about Gregori, and they embark, they share a unrelenting passion for each other, and find a abiding love that will get them through thick and thin...and even the greatest danger that poses to her wont even compare with the dangerous desire she feels for Gregori "sexiest vampire alive"The Sexiest Vampire Alive is the most current release in the Love At Stake series by one of my favorite paranormal authors. Ever since I have fallen in love with the first book I read from this author, I have just lusted after each of her novels...and this one is no different. It would probably be considered one of my favorites of the series so far....I just loved reading Gregori's story, after seeing what a charismatic devil he can be in the other books in the series...you see a deeper side to him, one that you just will fall for. The plot was exciting and thrilling and full of twists and curves that will delight you...but at the same moment surprise you when you least expect it to. The characters were a pleasure to delve into....very likeable and entertaining....so if you like Kerrelyn Sparks and haven't read this one yet...get to the store, buy it, and read it ASAP!!! For you will fall in love again!!

Marielle knows inside his heart and the pain he feels and trying to help heal him, so ends up feeling yearning for him and love...and wonders what she would sacrifice to keep him in her life...even if that means giving up returning home.
Vampire Mine is the tenth installment in the Love At Stake Series by Kerrelyn Sparks. Vampire Mine was a pure delight, and had me thirsting for more after each page. Ever since I started reading this series, I have looked forward to when Connor would make his downfall to love, and Kerrelyn Sparks didn't disappoint....I just fell in love with Marielle, she had such a innocence about her, very curious about everything (which was hilarious at times) that you couldn't help but like her. Connor is very rough around the edges, but in this story we see a different side of him, a side that Marielle brings out in him. Vampire Mine was such a endearing read, and one of my favorite romances to read. The story was filled with adventure, witty interaction, passion and a tender love story that will leave you breathless. Definitely a jewel you don't want to miss out on. I Loved it!!

"Lots of things," she replied " The Three step rule, oral sex-"
"Holy Christ Almighty" He pressed a hand to his brow. "They were supposed to teach you how to shampoo yer hair, no' give you instructions on oral sex!"
