Abigail Shaw, has a deep love for writing, her father owns a respectable newspaper, and without knowing it his daughter is one of its writers. Abigail, learning that the fathers paper is having financial trouble, wants to find a scandal that will help her father, and to be respected as a woman author in a newspaper. So when she hears that there is a Duke in the Realm that appears to have a perfect past, she knows she needs to find out what scandal there is in his past. Knowing that the Lords of the realm are used to scandals, this could help save her father, so she poses as someone else at a house party hosted by his family for his younger sister who is coming out in society. But she knows the key part of her plan, is to gain the trust of Christopher Cabot, the Duke of Madingley. But there is something about the Duke, that causes her to be tempted by his kisses, where she starts to forget the real reason she is there. Christopher, after having a terrible event happening in his past, he overcomes it and prevents any scandal occuring. But when a young woman comes to him with a proposal that he can't deny, he knows he is in deep trouble. For he is getting closer attached to this woman who tempts him to sharing his secrets and thought to her. But what will happen when he falls for this enticing beauty where despite the deceptions he has found something more precious than he ever thought he would find.

I have always loved reading from Gayle Callen, and Never Dare A Duke was no different. I love the whole aspect of the mystery side of the story. It kept me in suspense until the very end. Christopher in his younger years suffered and has to live with it ever since, and just when he starts to come to terms with his past, he meets Abigail who is unlike any other woman he has ever met. There is a mystery about her, and he is anxious in his endeavor to find the truth. Abigail, at first is firm in her resolve to find the scandal in Christophers past, however after spending time with him, and sharing some intimate moments, she starts to doubt herself in the plan she has set in motion, wondering if she could ever hurt the one who has made her feel and experience things she never thought she ever would in her lifetime, and find a love so precious she never would want to give him up. As we see these two characters collide, and a ride that will take them and bring them exquisite joy and sorrow, we also see a tender love that blossoms between the two but will it destroy them or unite them? I found I truly enjoyed reading this story, and plus the cover is every bit as tempting and sensual as the story portrays. Never Dare A Duke is truly a WONDERFUL read!!!

Every Gentleman in London has seen the most sensual painting, that has them all wondering who this mysterious lady could be? And why would she do such a thing? So when three young women come in the night, in hopes of stealing the painting in hopes that no one would be able to guess who, they are caught red handed by Julian Delane and his two friends. Then there is a wager placed between them, on who can guess the true identity of this woman, but if they never guess right, then the three woman get to keep it. So goes the battle between friends and sexes. However Rebecca Leland never thought that this painting and the necklace that she carries called "Scandalous Lady" would draw so much attention to herself, attention that puts her life in danger. So she flee's London, however Julian follows her and then vows to protect her until they know who is behind it. In this enticing book we see how Julian realizes how precious Rebecca is to him, and they neither of them wants to give up the priceless love they have found in each others arms.

I found this one to be a endearing but also a adventurous story. At the beginning we have this silly wager between these two, but then the plot really thickens up with excitement when Rebecca's life is in danger, but what she never suspects is that Julian is a fierce protector and lover. I truly loved the plot and all of the characters in this book. Both main and sub ones. Rebecca is a spirited young lady, but has suffered much in her young life as well. Even though she has been surrounded by loved ones, her childhood was filled with illness after illness, never being able to live a life of adventure that she has only dreamed of. She has such a inner strength and perserverance to not be afraid of illness, but to live every moment with adventure and passion. Julian's family name is filled with scandal, however he knows that once he finds the truth of his father's death, than he will be able to clear his name, and the answer is in Rebecca, who holds the very item that once was his father's. But through this adventure they both are driven into, they realize the biggest one of all is finding true love and a passion that consumes them both. I have to say this is one of my favorite series of Gayle Callen, and I am looking forward to read the future stories between Julian's two friends and Rebecca's two cousins since this is Book 1 in the series. I have no complaints to this book apart from the fact of the flow of the book. It wasn't all consistent but for the most part was a engaging read with some good passion, excitment and adventure, and a tender love story.

Katie James, having recently gotten her hands on a home to be refurbished, including a garden with a beautiful marble statue of a man that tempts her. But she starts hearing a tempting voice to kiss the statue so she does, and finds herself kissing a real life breathing man that is pure woman's fantasy. At first she doesn't believe that magic or Jorlan is real, or that such a kiss could be so intoxicating. Jorlan en Sarr has been entrapped as a statue for hundreds of years, never knowing that this one woman would be the one to release him, and he has two weeks to make her fall in love with him and break the spell, if he fails however than he will be a statue for all time. Having come from a panet far away, Imperia, he misses his home but yearns to stay on this one with Katie, who stirs him up like no other woman has ever done. Jorlan is used to obedient women wanting to pleasure him, however Katie is definitely different, far from obedient and pleasing. To Jorlan, Katie is argumentative, stubborn, opinionated and nothing like what he is used to, but he can't seem to get enough of her, and finds that she fascinated him more than any other has ever done, but will he be able to break the spell with this fair maiden that he has fallen madly for.

The Stone Prince is part of the Imperia series, and I loved reading Jorlan and Katie's story. I found it to be such a fun read, similar to her Atlantis series, with the adventure, passion and sassy fun that is portrayed throughout the story. I also loved how different these two are from one another, especially since they have lived in different worlds but find a common goal, in one another. I truly have enjoyed Gena Showalter, and I have to say that I truly found The Stone Prince a enjoyable read. From the first page to the last I found the plot and the characters to be engaging and riveting! So if you are looking for a fun and engaging romance than The Stone Prince is definitely for you. I am definitely looking forward to the other book in the series.

Layel, King of the Vampires gets caught up in a battle between the Dragons (his enemy) and the Amazons. As both he and his fellow vampires get caught up in it, he endeavors to destroy as many Dragons as he can. After a few Dragons, killed his wife, he has sought revenge ever since, vowing to himself to kill every last one of them. However he is then transported to a Island, with other Atlantians as a game that the gods want Layel and his fellow Atlantians to fight each other, to see who the best challenger is. Admidst all this chaos, Layel is drawn to a certain Amazon, whom even though they are on opposite teams, they are drawn to one another. Delillah after attempting to rescue her sister future queen from the Dragons, she is then transported to an island and she is faced against Layel, whom attracts her like no other man has ever done. After sharing some tender, yet passionate embraces, she knows that there is something about Layel that draws her to him. Delilah has suffered greatly in the past, especially when it comes to men, but she feels when she is around Layel, and she knows that she is falling in love with him, despite the fact that they are enemies and that there will only be one man or woman standing at the end of the challenge, but will their love be strong enough?

I am so glad that I got to get a hold of another book of this fantastic series, Atlantis. Although I did enjoy Vampires Bride, it was my least favorite so far. However there were many good things that I did love about Layel and Delilah's story. Layel, is a powerful vampire, and is bent for revenge over his lost love's death, and will everything in his power to destroy every Dragon. He also vowed to never love another, but everything changes for him when he is put in a battle of contests against other Atlantians- Dragons, Nymphs, Amazons and a few others. There is something about Delilah that makes he start to slowly forget his previous wife, and focus on the present and how much Delilah creates such sensations within him that he hasn't experienced in many years. Although it was a great book to read, with a exciting plot, it also seemed to me that there was too much conflict in the story, much more than I thought was necessary. Although I really loved all the characters in this book, especially how there was also a side story involving Shivawn and Alyssa. Which was also a great mini love story to read their journey, where they overcome fears and their pasts to let themselves accept love in each other. If you like Gena Showalter than you will come to love these two stories and the characters within them that will make you fall in love with this series.

Valerian, the King of Nymphs is a purely sexual creature that emulates sensuality at its best. He has recently regained the palace from the Dragons. When he is training with his men, he realizes how weak they all are. Since there aren't available women around, that can cause disaster among Nymphs. Nymphs need to be intimate often with women to keep up their strength, its vital for their survival. So he decides that they must go to the surface and bring down human women. Shaye Holling is attending her mother's wedding, her sixth one. Shaye has never been close to her mother, she has had numerous amounts of boyfriends and husbands, and not one of those relationships lasted. Shaye is content with living single the rest of her life, rather than endure the heartache and pain that comes from a intimate relationship with someone. Then six handsome and sensual men come out of the water, and walk toward the guests. Shaye is captivated by the leader Valerian. However, she is able to resist his charm that obviously comes with him being a Nymph. Shaye is almost appalled when she she so many women around her fawning over these males as if they are gods needed to be worshiped. Valerian is surprised that there is one woman that is able to resist his sensual promises and charm. No woman has ever dared to do so. Thus he takes her under the water, against her will, knowing that she is his one and only mate. That she is the one that he will spend the rest of his existence with. At first Shaye believes that when she is dragged under the water that he means to kill her, but then she is taken to Atlantis the home of mythical creatures. Valerian than goes about trying to convincing her that she is his mate, and that her life will be on Atlantis and she will never return back home. Even though she isn't close to her family, she worked hard to create a life for herself. She continues trying to get back, but despite all her protests, she finds her resolve weakening toward Valerian. That she might actually fall in love with this utterly captivating Nymph King.

This is the first book that I have read from Gena Showalter, and have decided that for sure she is one of my favorite paranormal authors so far, at the top of the list. I have a love for mythology and especially for those surrounding Atlantis. Gena Showalter made the myth become reality of Atlantis. I loved really the whole plot and story line to this book, it definitely is the type of book that I love to read!!! I couldn't put it down, I had it read in a couple of hours. I also loved both the main and sub characters, it also had a sub plot with Valerian's cousin and a woman who was as resistant to the Nymph Charm as Shaye was. So that was also fun to get into as well. These pages were filled with adventure, romance, magic, exciting plot, and a love between this couple that will captivate your heart. The cover alone, was what really drew me in, I mean how can one woman resist such a epitome of sensuality right? Its at the top of my list of my favorites, and one I could re-read, so bring on the rest of the series, I can hardly wait for more adventure and passion!!!

Madeline Calhoun, runs a newspaper called the "San Antonio Star" having recently settled in San Antonio and made a life for herself. Madeline has a passion for discovering the truth and writing about it. Now her husband, whom she thought she may have loved at one time, has now lost him and her newspaper in a card game, and the new owner is a man she fell in love with when she lived in New Orleans, but thought that he had died in Mexico, but now is faced with the one man that once had her heart. Rafe is furious with her, and Madeline is overwhelmed to see him again. Rafe is furious to see Madeline again, but so is Madeline with Rafe for not ever letting her know that he was alive when she believed him dead. So even though these two are at odds with one another, there is still a raw passion that awakens, and a love that is rekindled...Rafe is the third installment in the Renegade series by Genell Dellin. I have only couple books from this author, but I found Rafe to be a compelling story. The story takes place in San Antonio Texas, where two people that once knew the meaning of the phrase "to have loved and lost" now comes face to face with each other, and tempers and emotions are very high, but there is a desire between them that has never died, and has awakened again now that they have worked out a compromise, that will only have their hidden love to come alive brighter than ever. Rafe and Madeline are endearing characters and their interaction with one another is will be entertaining to say the least. Throughout the whole of the story, there was one surprise after another, unsuspecting and full of emotion and intensity. So if you are a lover of romance this is one you don't want to miss out on.....

My Favorite Quote
"You're a fair man, Rafe, and you're being treated monumentally unfairly. You're an honorable man and you're being treated with reprehensible dishonor. I will not let that happen as long as I have a breath in my body."

Callie Sloane, alone and pregnant and kicked out by her father, she decides to fulfill her past love's dream and go the Cherokee Strip and set up a homestead there, despite all the hardship she knows she will face. But right when she is about to stake her claim, a handsome renegade comes insisting that she is on his claim. Nick half Cherokee but no one knows that he is indian, or he would never be able to have this land, that is very precious to him. So when he comes across a lone widow claiming his land, he forces her to claim another piece of land, but what he never expected was to be drawn to this fiery woman who takes his breath away, despite how he keeps saving her, and starts being her protector, and finds that she is a temptress who entices him more than any other woman has.Nick is the second installment in the Renegade series. This is a story about two people that have both been hurt when it comes to the matter of the heart. Although their pasts are very different, they both know pain, and need each other more than either of them fully realize. I found the plot to be strong and full of excitement. I really liked the characters in this book, they were very likable, and both so alike, they just fit perfectly. I did feel through most of the book like there was something missing from the story and from their relationship as well. There was definitely a sensuality about their relationship, and a tender love story, however especially toward the end, I felt like there should have been something more in it. However overall it was a an entertaining adventure, and I had a fun time reading Nick's story.

Sophie Windham has found a few days to herself before her brothers come. Then she finds herself with a abandoned baby, whose mother just up and left him. So its up to her to care for him. When Vim see's a lone woman lookiug more lost than ever taking care of a child, he offers his services. What he doesn't know is that one night helping Sophie will turn into days, and he won't be able to stop himself from being captivated by her beauty and sweet spirit. Even though her brothers interrupt his plans, he knows what he wants..but how much is he willing to fight for her?Even though this story is a Christmas themed, this is the type of story that can be read any time of the year. Even though there is a part of me that wished that I had read this one a couple of months ago. However I found myself truly enjoying this story, and once I started reading and getting into the plot, I was very into it and I had a difficult time putting it down. The way Grace Burrowes weaves a story is remarkable, I loved her descriptions that made the scenes come alive in the readers mind. It was so fun to see Sophie and Vin interact with each other, and I enjoyed having a infant as part of the story, it definitely livened things up. I found Lady Sophia's Christmas Wish a entertaining read, that fully engages the reader with sharp witty humor, and a fun and sexy plot, and lets be honest who can resist a man who is able to handle himself changing a diaper or feeding a baby? A Sensational read and I would recommend it to any lover of historical romance or even just romance in general.

The underworld is in chaos and preparing for war, with Rand and Jolie at the head of preparing for a war against the one witch, Bella, that would like nothing better than to see them suffer. Even though in the past things have always been tense between the different factions in the underworld, this is the first time it has come down to two sides fighting a war. So as Rand and Jolie help unite their side, and prepare for the war that is about to come, they know they must do everything in their power to win, or if they lose this one, all will be lost. Jolie Wilkins not only has the war to worry about but her relationship with Rand, who has yet to fully commit to her out of personal fears, and there is a also a certain sexy vampire who is more than ever determined to have her, but the one she wants more and love is Rand, and she hopes that can make it through the tough battles ahead.
Toil and Trouble is the second and most recent installment in the Jolie Wilkins series written by H.P. Mallory.Toil and Trouble started off exactly where the last book ended, and I absolutely had such a fun time reading this one. I must have read it in two hours, I was so enthralled by the story and the lovely characters that made me fall in love with them a second time. This story is about two people that obviously love each other, but what they learn about each other and their relationship and what it needs the most is....trust. So we see these two take a journey preparing for a war that if it ends in a certain way could be grief and pain for the rest of their lives, however we also see they are both willing to fight for the one that they love, no matter the cost. Toil and Trouble was truly a delight to read, and I felt invigorated by it, and I can hardly wait for the next one....I feel like I am going to be twiddling my thumbs, anxious in the anticipation wondering what is going to happen and will it leave me hanging like this one did??? Overall a Fantastic read!!! I loved it!!!
