I had some trouble getting into the book, but that ending made it all worth it!
slow-paced

I think this book had a really decent premise that could have been executed well. However, the pacing was far too slow for me. In the beginning it felt a lot better, but by the time the curse was put into place, things started to really slow down.

This was a really cute book. You could kind of guess some of the plot points, but I didn't mind. The characters were likable, and I enjoyed their journey.

I feel like there could have been more done to foreshadow the mystery. The mystery was good, but it was a lot of the author telling you what was happening without enough hinting to the ways it could go.

I think this was a nice book. It had a lot of good humor, and explored its ideas fully. My only complaint is that the book spends drastically different time on each of the trials. They finish the first trial nearly a third of the way through the book, after 5 or 6 chapters, they spent only 2 chapters on the second trial, and then spent another 5 or 6 chapters each on the last two trials. It felt odd when I was reading it.

A really powerful story that I think should be studied. With the way things are going here in the US, this is an important message to look at.

A really interesting and worthwhile read. I really liked the mixed media. I had trouble keeping track of what was happening and who people were, which made the lyrical writing a lot more confusing at time.
