Why did the queer relationship feel like the author had given all of the male characters extremely good chemistry between each other (but let’s be real, most of them had a thing for Gansey and you can’t convince me otherwise) this, however, felt like extremely awkward queer baiting, until she landed on the couple in the last few chapters, after four relentlessly long books, which just felt kinda forced (the timing, not the couple!). Still happy we got the queer couple I thought we’d have from the start, and I was extremely disappointed to see that it wasn’t labeled as lgbtqia+ on storygraph (someone had said it was queer and I thought it would be… more. But that’s definitely on me 😅)

Why does the author hate short people??
Also really disliked her trying to implement a „strong female character“ and writing a white, blonde woman being a man’s pet and being constantly reduced to her body and literally SA‘d - and I hated Greenman even more, because why was every second line of his a really weird sexual reference? Not to mention the protagonists thinking about how to get him to leave the town and deciding to make up fake videos and text messages of Greenman SAing and then killing literal children, because that was not unnecessary, but also totally disrespectful…

If I had a quid for every really good book without an absolutely unnecessary and difficult love triangle between the characters which have about the least chemistry, I’d still be fucking poor.
(Still liked it tho - but I did skip quite many of the swooning described in the book, because the possible relationships with Blue are absolutely not my cup of tea)
