I am hopeless when it comes to not judging books by their cover. I bought this book, not even reading what the description was and started. A few chapters in, I actually turned it over and read the description off the back. Wait, what did I pick up to read?!

I was absolutely not expecting the plot line based on the cover. Greek history and ancient oracles and superpowers....all in a book with a pearl necklace and knife on the cover. I was shocked. I didn't even get that vibe from the title of the book! Pretty surprising but I can't complain!

Overall, I adored Harper. I adored Harper and Ryan. I adored Harper and David. Basically, Harper makes me like people. She's a pretty phenomenal character who is a strong, independent woman and who does all the can to achieve as much as she can. Just....she's inspiring while still having superpowers.

The relationships in the book were realistic. They grew on me and I really appreciated the growth of each one. Including her friendships - even if there was a teeny amount of lying, it was necessary.

There were times while reading this that I giggled and times where I was sitting here dumbfounded repeating, "Wait what....no. wait....what?" This book had surprises and humor and butterflies and yay. It was lovely and I'm so glad I picked it up! It was a quick read and although I really wanted to give it 5 stars, it just wasn't an all time favorite for me. But still a fantastic book that I would happily recommend to people.

I loved reading a bit more into Hagrid's favorite part of the Wizarding World - the Magical Creatures! Some tempted to give me nightmares and some made me want to find one and cuddle it until the end of time. Overall this was a great bit of insight further into Harry's world - something I'll NEVER complain about receiving. And if the coming soon movie features an Opaleye dragon, I may die at it's sheer beauty. Fingers crossed!

Definitely an insightful and helpful guide to the game of Quidditch for young witches and wizards all over the globe. I love that it broke down not only the origin of the game, but also the positions origin, the teams, other popular broomstick games, and more. This was very informative and gave insight to another aspect of the Wizarding World that wasn't as deeply touched upon in the original series. With all that said, Go Finchburg Finches!!

Definitely contains some gorgeous poetry and quotes. However I wasn't expecting it to be so....angry. I'm not sure how much of this book was taken from personal experience or references to true events but the overall tone was so angry, it was hard to look past that into just the beauty of the words.

Definitely some gorgeous poetry mixed in though. Can't argue that fact.

Alright well, it definitely could have been worse and Kiera Cass certainly made up for it by the ending. But second book syndrome got to America in the worst way possible.

Maxon was absolutely flawless as usual. His appearances in this segment of The Selection were so great, I fell so much more in love with him.

What I didn't love was America. It's almost like her rational thinking in this book went right out the window. After witnessing some awful events, she and Aspen continued if not escalated their hidden relationship and oh my god. Girl, you're not stupid. Use your head and think about what you're doing for a second.

I know he was her first love but she uses him as a backup plan. It's obvious. And I'm okay with that because Maxon for the win, but I don't think America realizes she's doing it to herself. She's mistaking consistency and comfort for love and it drives me nuts.

Overall though the plot was just as solid as the first book and I'm so excited to start The One soon and finish up this round of The Selection before heading off to read The Heir.

Ahh and thus The Selection series comes to an end. I know The Heir is technically apart of the series but it's a different generation - so I'm not counting it.

I was so happy with the way this series ended. Definitely the perfect ending to a series I sped through. It was so good!

The reason this earned 4 Stars from me wasn't because of any character flaws or plot issues or anything related to the writing of the book. What bothered me was how fast it all went.

I understand a ton happened in the last few chapters. I won't say what but if you're reading this, you know what I mean. A ton happened....and then it was over. There was no room for grief or happiness or acceptance. There was just the end. And that bothered me. I wanted America to really grasp what she had faced the last few chapters and come to terms with it, and I felt like it was very quick to end.

I absolutely loved the story, please don't get me wrong in that aspect. I just felt like she didn't have enough time to truly grasp everything she was dealt at such a rapid pace.

Overall I absolutely LOVED this series and couldn't have asked for more....except maybe a few chapters to slow down the happily ever after.
