I strongly recommend this book to people who are interested in historical fictions that have lead diverse characters. Reading this book resonated with me because Saint Malo is my favorite place in the whole world.
I constantly felt the need to research the history of Saint Malo, France. This story truly touched me and I felt lost in the story and the beauty of it.

It’s very interesting how a book can make you feel like a live movie is being played in your imagination. This book scared me and made me realize “how come I’m just reading goosebumps books?” Apparently I’ve been missing out.
I didn’t see or even thought that the whole town were ghost and after blood.

I’ve been hesitant on finishing this series because the Goblet of fire made me extremely upset with Ron and Harry. However reading this book, I realized how many important topics this books shows kids and people in my generation. Harmonie knitting scarfs for house elves and fighting for equality and fair treatment. Ron being more of a supportive friend. Harry was a bit temperamental and lacked reflective skills at times but he preserved and proved that he who shall not be named was back. Dumbledore and Harry conversation at the end of the book left me with too many thoughts. I too like Harry may not have fully understand why Dumbledore kept so much information from him but I understand the sentiment. The order of the Phoenix showed a prime example of friendship and sticking together for a cause that matters so Percy can suck it.
This book was really funny and made me think about my blackness in relation to all the caucasity around me.
This book caused me to self reflect on the things I put in the world and the things I allow to happen to me. A long time ago my aunt said to me “a person will never do something to you that you haven’t allowed to happen already. I think the message of this book was spot on but I think you should interpret this book in a different way that is specific to you and not to the author.
This book was very interesting. The ending was much different than I originally thought. I don’t want to say any spoilers. The journey and character development between a mother and daughter, in addition to their responsibility of the world on their shoulders..... it kept me hooked.
Mending relationships and trusting people when you are weak or not able too was a constant theme throughout the book. I remember thinking to myself “no matter how strong or how wonderful you believe you are, unfortunate things can happen to you as well.”
Pride and the need to be right cause some characters some issues but that’s life. This book has many life lessons that causes the reader to think “when will the 5th season end?”

This book was absolutely wonderful! Please read it! It was an amazing story about love and losing someone you love at a young age and anger.
I found myself most interested in the development of the young girl, Scout and her relationship with her father and aunt. I often felt that Scout and Jim’s father tried his best to teach his children how to be kind.
His efforts were lost at times because his sister, the children aunt, contradicted everything he said. His sister often told Scout and Jim that their family was of a certain breed and high standards and they need not bother with other kinds of people.
It goes to show that no matter how or what you do, society (Atticus sister) will find a way to teach your kids another thing in another manner. I was inspired by Scout’s determination to undermine almost everything her aunt told her by responding to her aunt’s nonsense by stating “Atticus said….”
The following part of the book touched me…
Jim believed that people have different backgrounds and we are separate because of our abilities to reading and write. Meanwhile, Scout thought that they are one type of folks and they are just “folks.” Jim said, “if they are all alike why do we never get along.” I felt Jim sentiments to my core. If we are all one, why can’t we celebrate diversity and differences? Instead, we ostracize those who do not fit into society’s view of “human.”
Atticus views of remaining sane and in one piece was admirable. He tried his best to not have two different outlooks inside and outside the home. It was internal turmoil for him towards the end of the book. I can not believe this is my first time reading/listening to this book.
Pay close attention to the trail part of this book. White woman versus Black Man.
