To be such a short story. This was terrifying. We must be careful what we put online. The internet can be a beautiful and also very dangerous thing.

Nghi Vo rarely if ever disappoints me as a story teller and writer. I find myself in a whimsical dream because their writing is lyrically beautiful. I found myself most intrigued by the Pig woman in this story. I still find myself thinking of her and her quest of survival.

Fantastic story of two magical sister that has to work through their conflict to unravel family secrets and solve a few family mysteries.

Radiant Yellow story is the best storyline so far. I trully enjoyed it and it broke me. These superheroes are not your average heroes and I love it. This series reminds me of the Heroes tv show. It reminded me that although they have powers all of the characters are human.

We got more information about Radiant Red and Pink and although it was needed. I found myself having a soft spot for Radiant Pink. I am still not over the comments that Radiant Red made in reguards to another character. I think the author does a good job at introducing new characters and aspects of this universe. I am excited to see what happens next.

Radiant Black was a good introduction into the characters. I found myself so invested in the side characters as the story progressed. I found myself also anger with some of the characters as the story progress. This volume I rate a 3 because I wanted more of the scenes to be flushed out and I didn't like some things that were said between characters.

The stalking was entirely too much for it. I felt like I never got a break from it. The switching POV didn’t even help.

I wish I could bottle up the follows themes and never forget them.
  • Racial disparities and trauma
  • Built up cortisol and how it can kill you
  • Different indigenous practices that deserves more recognition
  • The field of psychology not often being human first
  • Trauma is better categories as a wound or injury
  • Marketing teams that are created to get American addicted to items and sugar
  • Menthol cigarettes targeting Black communities
  • Little T and big T
  • Trauma in the body
  • Toxic culture and unhelpful usage of trauma in pop culture
  • Limiting TV because it can mimic symptoms of ADHD and autism in children

Hornclaw was sharp until the very end. I read other reviews and I agree the narration of this book is not top tier. I think it pulled me out the story. It took me weeks to finish this book. I thought the mystery of this book was okay. I am interested to read other stories by this author!

Recently a friend told me about a documentary she saw about Koreans elders often being pushed out of their jobs. Or forced to retire. This book also depicted the woes do the real world in this piece of fiction.

This book was one of my favorite in the series and one of the hardest to get through. There are content warning of sexual assault off page. The suspense of this book was on point and it was very disturbing. This book was 5 stars for me because I was in love with the main character and her internal fight. The ending was one of the saddest scenes of all.
