Pamela is, for me at least, one of those books I would much rather discuss than read. Along with every other reviewer out there, I found Richardson's prose to be nigh on interminable and Pamela to be an arrogant and sanctimonious little creep.
Still, I enjoyed knowing what happens and I especially enjoyed reading the criticism.
The book itself is revolutionary and brilliant, just not written to my taste, which is rather understandable since it's been a while since it was published and Literature has evolved since then.
This is not a review in any way, it's an attempt to assess why I think the book should be read, but why I still shudder slightly at the idea of reading it.
