Jemisin's world-building is so damn well done. The characters, social structures, and relationships are weird, wonderful, and they make perfect sense. Love it.

3.5 stars. Did I L-O-V-E this book? Nah. But I did like it. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about this book for years, so I think that may have played into the disappointment. It got REAL good towards the end, but the inherent misogyny and sexism built into the world was 🙄, especially when it was inserted as “comic relief.” Overall, it was entertaining, but I don’t think I’ll be recommending it to anyone...
This was a very sweet story about first love. I would have hated it if I had read it a year or so ago. So I’m glad I read it now. Don’t read if you hate luv.
