Spent a couple days reading this, made it into the 600s. I don't like this. I don't get the hype. I respect what Gabaldon has done but I don't personally enjoy her work.

Very solid. While I'm not crazy over every pattern, I've used a lot of the small motifs to spice up other patterns that I have. It's easy to read and follow. I do wish there were more animals, especially because there's an Owl on the cover, however, this cover a large array of flowers. I also adore the lettering chart, which I've even used in knitting. It's one of the best I've seen anywhere. So thankful that I got this from my grandmother.

Love all the patterns in the book so much! Especially the amigurumi. It's so hard to find knitting patterns for those, especially nice ones. The Owl is drop dead gorgeous.

Many of the sweaters xan easily be knitted and worn without looking like merch, which I love. And many other patterns are basic colour graphs so if you're not a huge fan can still get a lot of use out of this book. There are gloves and scarves and cowls. It's fantastic.

I can't wait to get to some of these when my skills improve. Everything looks so pretty and cozy.

Not to mention it's a steal if you imagine buying all of these patterns individually. Plus there's there's versatility of the colour graphs etc to make some very unique pieces for friends and family.

I enjoyed this companion more than The Mother Goose Diaries. This book was very Red. I was surprised at how useful her raw advice was, and her own touches made it very enjoyable and funny. I loved the whole design of the book. The images were well done and appropriate for the chapter. It's funny how she actually thinks she is funny at times.

I've been skimming this in the mornings before work. Got it as a gift a long time ago since it was camping traditions. Some bits are fun, others not so much. I get rhe organization of the book is intended to be read put of sequence, but as someone who read it cover to cover I'd rather the size of the articles been shuffled.

I enjoyed the lighthearted tone it had.

The paperback is a solid brick though so you could maybe fight a bear if you wanted to, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Short read for the park. Nothing you can't find in interviews, but it's nice to have it in a book format with pictures.
