This book just didn't work for me. It felt too disjointed. There were perspectives that got more development than they needed, leaving me wanting something that wouldn't even be relevant to the story and there were underdeveloped perspectives that had a lot to do with the main plot that could have benefitted from some more page time. I think in the end she was trying too hard to make this feel like one of her older works when it was really something different and should have been treated as such. The author has found something that works for her, and that I really enjoyed, and I wouldn't be opposed to her trying something new, but I don't think adding unnecessary subplots and characters just to give it the Morton "feel" is the right way to go about it. If Elodie's perspective had been a prologue/epilogue type thing, Lucy's getting more page time and more relevance and Birdie's being a bit more everywhere and a bit more comprehensible in the beginning, this really could have been a gem.

Absolutely amazing! The interviews were insightful and full of character and they were actually quite original. They were long, and many of the things mentioned I'd not heard about before. The whole ensemble was beautiful, with the picture and the hand lettering. A+ indeed. Also, I was surprised to find that I enjoyed the episode guide. Sure I've seen both seasons more than once, but they were nice. I don't know why the episode guides for season two were so much longer than the first, but no complaints. I loved the "did you notice?" section in them. Some were rather obvious, and the stuff about the dwarves got a bit repetitive, but there were some things in there I did not notice.

Final thoughts: anyone who has loved Once will love this. I wish they'd done one's for season 3+, as all this was missing was an interview with Rebecca Mader (Zelena/The Wicked Witch) and an Outlaw Queen photo or section.

My feelings are very mixed. In many ways, this did not have the same 'feel' OUaT and the other books have, but it gave many backstories to Regina I never knew I missed. I loved those very much. Many things, like Jesse and Jasper, made me wonder if either has ever watched the TV show, yet things like how she captured Cora made me think she was a super fan.

Usually, I round down so this is a pretty good book! The best in the three YA series too.

I wanted so badly to love this book. It sounded so good. Too good to be true. This book just couldn't decide what it wanted to be and ended up failing at everything.

If this hadn’t been so hyped I would have liked it more. I can’t get over my disappointment.

Ohh this was a very, very solid novel. It blew my expectations, though they were low, to begin with.

This book was great. I loved it. My inner mythology nerd loved it. My inner Marvel fan loved it. The stories were funny and entertaining and they really made my day.
