The book was decent, had some good moments and bad ones. I can't say I've retained much of what I read besides a few lines and scenes here and there. Unsure if it was because I mainly listened to it via audio and I find it hard to visualize/pay attention to or just because the ebook was boring as even when I was reading a physical copy I was not attentive.

I don't even know where it happened but I guess I was spoiled for the ending. Definitely one of the better proiot books.

I liked some poems more than others. They average out quite close to three. Phillip Pullman's introduction was perfect.

I think the Goodreads description of two starts has it down pat: it was okay. I'm not blown away or anything, but I did not outright hate it.

A great and entertaining epic. Absolutely loved. Highly recommend to fantasy and mythology buffs.

I had a great translation, and I'm sure it helped a lot. I'm not a fan of reading thing in verse, other than sometimes Shakespeare. I find it really hard to follow even if it does have a proper plot and story structure. This wasn't as bad as I'd feared and the story was quite enjoyable. I did however find myself getting bored about halfway though.

Liked this more than I thought I would The long poems were the best. A lot of the short ones just felt like a sentence with too much talking and not enough substance; something made to be an Instagram caption. The topics covered in this were different than I thought they would be and by the end felt very uplifting and empowering. I might check out her other book sometime.
