Wow oh wow oh wow. That was amazing. The reviews on the back don't lie, it's almost as good as Lord of the Rings (maybe even as good), just not as dear to me.

At first I was worried this would be boring because it was day 1, but little did I know the telling of the story happened over one day (though it took me much longer to read it, and usually you tell things slower than you read them), not the whole story. I just need so much more from this I hope to read the next one very soon.

Not what I was expecting. I wanted some funny inside jokes for people who read the books. Instead, it used LOTR to poke fun at other things and made it obscene in the process. It wasn't even that funny, and I found it harder to follow than the original.

It's a bit duller the second time as I know what's going to happen, but I still love this series and can't wait to finally know what happens at the end. This world is so cool and creepy and everything I want it to be.

I honestly love this series. How can I not? This really has everything.

I'm not sure how I should rate this. I feel like three stars is good because this book was a mix. I found it had some good elements and some poor elements. I feel like the way he was connecting it to his life and cars and his kids were a bit awkward even if it was a good visual and they took away from the message.

I also noticed a few flaws I did not the first four times I read and reread this when it was the only Obernewtyn book I owned. Still, one of my favourite of the installments as it sets up well for the events to come in [b:The Keeping Place|47905|The Keeping Place (The Obernewtyn Chronicles, #4)|Isobelle Carmody|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1194379724s/47905.jpg|3268254], which is so far my favourite of all the books. I'm so glad I decided to do this reread of the series instead of just jumping into [b:The Sending|6000352|The Sending (The Obernewtyn Chronicles, #6)|Isobelle Carmody|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1358564866s/6000352.jpg|6175207]. I can't wait to find out more. And poor Dragon, she's one of my favourite characters. That scene makes me sad every time I read it :(.

Wow, I just couldn't get through this. I skimmed the last 300+ pages, even having to skip some of the longer, not-so-relevant parts to get to something remotely interesting. The plot was semi-interesting, but the characters were flat and unrelatable. They also came and went like water under a bridge. This had a lot of potential to have a great message about idolization as well as tie-in Greek, Roman, Norse and other gods. Instead it just kinda fell flat on its face with a bunch of vulgar scenes and swearing. It's sad that a book has to be inappropriate to be popular. :(

Leigh Bardugo is queen. Honestly. In one paragraph I was next to tears while the next one had me laughing without control. The dialogue was witty, realistic, and enjoyable. She described emotions and places better than a film can. I wanted to throw this book away and give it a hug at the same time.
