henry was different than i expected him to be. the first 70% of this book was pretty good, and the last 30% was really good

very interesting 

harrison wasn’t my fav because he was a little too ruthless and overbearing, but joanna shupe’s writing is good. and the concept of a historical sports romance was exciting and interesting!

this had some interesting takes but i didnt appreciate all of the author’s conclusions. also, the fact that jimmy carter was only mentioned TWICE when he is one of the most prolific presidential authors, ESPECIALLY in the last 100 years, made me feel like the whole book was kind of invalid. like its such a glaring mistake. 

i usually love elle kennedy + sarina bowen (both together and separate) but i knew i wouldn’t like this as soon as the MMC sent an unsolicited nude. i decided to give up on it for good when a sports romance i was highly anticipating came in from the library 

shadow and bone is good, siege and storm suffers a bit from second book syndrome, and ruin and rising is really good, especially the last few chapters
