the plot was interesting and the writing was nice, but the characters annoyed me quite a lot. bev acted like a 12 year old and colby objectified so many women

this was my first reread, aka my second read of this book. i think it might belong in my all time favs. i read it over 7 months ago, but it has stuck with me. i picked it up again because i was just in the mood to read it, and i think that is an indication of how wonderful it is. this novel has some of my favorite quotes of all time. maybe my next reread i will give a more in depth review about the actual book, but right now, i’m just high on heather demetrios’ masterpiece.
emotional

the characters were two dimensional, the story was all over the place, and the writing frustrated me a lot. however, i am a SUCKER for a sappy love story, and jade reminded me a lot of an old friend of mine. although it did not meet my expectations, i still found it somewhat enjoyable.
emotional reflective

while some of the situations felt forced, there were some very beautiful moments in this story. it is about two people belonging together and knowing it from the first time they lay eyes on each other. this story gives the message that love doesnt heal, but it does help, and i think that’s wonderful, especially because many novels imply that true love can make sadness and mental illness magically disappear.

i read this a while ago but i couldn’t remember how i felt about it. the first 200 pages or so, it was alright, but i really loved it after that. its a tad too formulaic to be one of my absolute favs, but it’s a really good read!
lighthearted
Loveable characters: No

i liked it. it was good enough, interesting enough, and funny enough. i will read the next ones bc i already own them and theyre easy and fun and drama filled. maddie bugs me a lot tho. and zoe reminds me of pretty little liars. also, if mr. h is 24, why is his mother in a NURSING HOME?
