Okay so hear me out here.. was this the best written book? Definitely not. But I really enjoyed the story and I’m excited to keep reading to see both the characters and story progress, as well as the author! I felt like there were some really amazing ideas and themes that didn’t really get fully fleshed out the way I was hoping, so I’m looking forward to the rest of the series to deliver on that side of things.
Ugh I honestly never wanted this book to end. I can’t get enough of all of these characters, and am so happy to love this series as much as I had hoped I would. And I’m absolutely obsessed with the duality of sweet cinnamon roll Malik and choke me daddy Gad
Emily Henry just has this incredible way of tearing your heart to pieces and then putting it back together in the same breath. The pain and individual traumas were so palpable in this one, with so much love woven through. Just so good.
Oh my goodness, this book healed parts of my heart I didn’t realize needed healing. It was goofy and heartfelt and reminded me of childhood whimsy and was just so, so beautiful. I love watching Linus grow and change and find joy through this weird little family, and I just felt so connected to every single character. Pretty sure this just became one of my all time favorite books ❤️
Absolutely heartbreaking in the best way. I love a good found family story, and the way this book addressed life and death and loss and trauma and grief? Just beautiful.
Another wonderful read from TJ Klune! I love the way he balances these goofy, unique characters with such a beautiful story full of adventure and emotion. I’m not big into dystopian novels but this was done in a way that just sucked me right in! Also I will forever be obsessed with the dynamic of Rambo and Nurse Ratched.
I’ve been struggling to find the words for this book but I can’t leave it unreviewed. It is SO GOOD and Hart and Mercy are just my faves. They are both so hilariously dense at times, but it makes the eventual realizations that much sweeter. I didn’t expect there to be much spice in this book, but was pleasantly surprised with possibly one of my favorite spicy scenes of all time? Bold statement, I know. I just loved all of the characters and their personalities so much and I will be thinking about this book for a long time!
This book went in such a different direction than I expected and I loved it. It gave very cozy vibes to start but then shifted into almost more of a high fantasy type, and I really enjoyed how the writing shifted with the story - from a scientific journal to more of a diary. Plus it wrapped up nicely, but left me excited for the next in the series!
Such a sweet, heartwarming read! A wonderful reminder of the power of books and community
