I cannot stop raving about this book and I’m so excited that book two comes out this year!

I will say that if you plan to read this book, I would highly recommend reading a physical or ebook copy because there were so many characters to keep track of. I also annotated the family trees at the beginning of the book so I could remember facts about the characters as I attempted to piece the mystery together.

The drama. The characters. The TWISTS. This debut was phenomenal and it is such a strong start to the series. I feel that the main plot line was well wrapped up while still leaving several strings dangling for the next book.
informative medium-paced

This book was one of the first informational books I picked up on Palestine. I did listen to the audiobook through the library and I’m glad I did, I feel like it made it very easy to get through, especially as some parts were long winded.

While this was my first informational book on the topic, I did have a basic understanding of the conflict before jumping into this book and I do recommend you have a baseline for what is going on before reading. I saw someone say to read the conclusion first and then go back to the beginning and I do think that helped.

It was a fun story. Had I read this in middle or high school I could see this being a comfort read that I come back to. You can tell it was written in the 2000s era so be prepared for a slower pacing, multiple books that could be condensed, and the 2000s writing pattern.

I am not going to lie, everyone on TikTok was saying how this was published Omegaverse smut and, as someone who dabbles in that genre as it pertains to fan fiction, I was curious about what a published Omegaverse was like. I would just like to say, whoever started the rumor that it was Omegaverse was LYING. It is not Omegaverse and the smut was more or less minimal.

That being said, while I was expecting Omegaverse and lots of spice, I stayed for the plot which was well done. I was very entertained throughout this story and trying to uncover the mystery alongside them.
