Well written story and gorgeous illustration. I loved to learn about Cecila and how important she was to the legacy of Chinese food in America. A great story to highlight a lesser known historical figure.

I recieved an advance readers copy of this book. A outstanding story that is based in real historical places. I enjoyed the parallel stories of Han Yu in ancient china and Luli in Chinatown NYC during the Great Depression. Definitely a favorite for this year.
