so unforgettable & i wish the two main characters communicated a little more. the love interest was also way too stoic/emotionless, like give me nothing ig??

i hate that the story is split into 2 parts, literally what was the need

This was cringey, I think the whole Wonderland thing was overplayed. I also just hate it when child abuse and rape is used in dark romances, because it's always done so insensitively.

I didn't mind the couple, they had a whole Joker/Harley Quinn vibe which I actually really liked. But idk, certain elements of this just didn't sit right with me.

please, I'm going to hell for reading this.

A love story between a serial killer and a nun... Raphael is the darkest romance book I've ever read. There were scenes and descriptions that were almost too dark for me. But the main romance, between Maria and Raphael made up for it.

I adored Maria. She was SO innocent, which some people might find irritating. I think that she was the perfect balance to Raphael's darkness. I liked that Maria had faced her own demons, and had her own past to face up to. It was definitely needed in order to push her character beyond the 'innocent, pure woman' stereotype, which i don't usually like in books.

I also developed such a soft spot for Raphael. He was victim of awful abuse, and seeing that trauma manifest itself in his life, now that he's older, was definitely difficult to read. Both Maria and Raphael, the horrible things they faced, pulled on my heartstrings. Raphael was fucked up, and twisted, and a literal serial killer, but I loved him

Honestly, I'll love anything Rae Kennedy releases. This was soo so cute, and Eric is not the kinda guy I usually prefer in books but woah he was so sweet

I'm very conflicted with this book. There were elements I loved - the plot twists, for example, were amazing, they were so shocking- I'm obsessed. Exodus pulled on my heartstrings quite a few times, it was definitely emotional, which I also loved. However, I was not a fan of the writing style. I think that Kate Stewart tries really hard to create very poetic, lyrical sentences, and I'm sorry but it felt very cringy to me. The dialogue/speech just felt so unrealistic.

For instance, there was a scene, where the main character is having a very serious conversation with Tobias, the love interest, and they're talking about all the awful things they've been through. They are literally discussing the future of their relationship, and whether there actually is a future (so it's very serious, okay). And the main character deadass looks Tobias in the face and says, "I guess I'll always be that girl, crying for the moon."

This book was a completely different vibe to the previous books, and I wasn't the biggest fan unfortunately. There wasn't a lot of mafia content, it was more focused on racing. And it was DARK AF. A bit too dark for me, maybe??

I did cry at the end though lmao, when it was the family dinner and the entire Falcone family was there

I'm not sure if this is my final rating. I liked Gemma sm, but Savio was so irritating at times. I think I preferred seeing him in the "brother" role, rather than the "boyfriend". He was also a huge player, and I don't vibe with that tbh. At all. I didn't buy into his feelings for Gemma, I never got the vibe that he loves her, I always felt like he just desires her. Idk. I'm sad because this is my fav romance series, but this relationship..... was not it.

Also, Gemma's brother... I *hated* him. He was so hypocritical, the double standards were killing me.

Anyways, the next (and final

Major triggers for rape and paedophilia

"Before you, there was calm. There was order and logic."
"And now?"
"Now," he growled and his expression twisted, "now there's chaos."
