I liked it well enough for what it was, but I think I’m going to take a break from reading low-effort thrillers. Something about the first person present tense narration just feels very weak. There’s nothing I hate more than a thriller told in first person, where the twist relies on the narrator keeping secrets from the audience. That’s just not how first person narrator works!

Incredibly thrilling and suspenseful! I really liked the contrast between Meredith's POV leading up to her disappearance and Kate's POV immediately after her disappearance. As soon as I hit the middle of the book I was HOOKED - I couldn't put it down and I ended up reading the whole thing in one day. The fact that it was Bea who (somewhat accidentally) masterminded the whole situation was such a good twist! I really wish we had gotten more of Delilah/Carly's POV.

I really enjoyed the dark academic "The Secret History" vibe. I liked how the literary analysis of Shakespeare's work was added in and became an essential part of the plot. The characters were all very complex, which I enjoyed.
