This book was very odd. It reminded me a lot of ‘We Need To Talk About Kevin’. I was expecting it to be more about the relationship between Briella and Onyx and the science fiction but instead it was in the background, being menacing. It didn’t work for me.

A beautiful novel about women, technology, death, morality and psychology. It begins with a locked-room mystery and spirals backwards and forwards through time. I love the complexities of the relationships between the women and the relationships of the time travellers to themselves. I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book. I like the fact that we’re getting more backstory for Aunt Ibby as well as exploring Lee’s new job as a field reporter. A solid series.

A charming setting and engaging characters make this a worthy sequel! With lots of twists and turns and romantic upheavals, I’m really looking forward to the next book and a particular showdown. 👀🍿
