I really enjoyed this book and the world that Ellie Alexander has created. I love the fact that there’s an underlying mystery of Sloan’s birth family and her past as well as her difficult relationship with her ex and his family. I can tell this is going to be an excellent series for years to come.
I was very disappointed with this book. The mysteries were fairly pedestrian and I was extremely uncomfortable with the portrayal of a young girl with autism. It felt like a filler book. The first five books were great but this is a pale imitation.
This story baffles me because it’s presented as happening after book 9 in the series, but the characters and their relationships indicate it takes place much earlier. I don’t know why it was numbered as 9.25 but it’s incredibly confusing and needlessly frustrating.
This is a funny, honest and poignant memoir which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. The author’s perspective is one I’m not familiar with, so I found this book incredibly informative and eye-opening.
This was not my favourite book in the series. It felt very transitional but not in an exciting way. The mystery wasn’t compelling and things just seemed flat.
Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot. I really like the characters and the town. I found some of the tying up of loose ends a bit clumsy.
