A promising start to a new cozy mystery series. There's a lot of information about whisky and whisky-making in the book but it doesn't feel clunky or overwrought. And I didn't guess the ending (which is always a nice bonus)!

I enjoyed this quite a bit. It's predictable but it's based on a well-known fairytale, so that comes with the territory. I like how we don't learn everything about the characters, only enough to give us a sense of who they are. It definitely leaves room for more storytelling- prequels, perhaps?

Pride and Prejudice and dragons and goblins and oh my stars, this book is everything you could want.
