Way to bury the lede with the title.

This was a pretty fascinating look at the Tory side of the Revolutionary War set in CT.

There is a significant amount of cursing in this book, which I found odd for the targeted age range. It didn't bother me as an adult, I just found it odd.

Great, quick read about a minister's son who has moved to an insular, coastal town in Maine.

My younger son loved this book. He picked it out at the library and read it on the spot and then asked me to read it to him.

A mix of sci-fi interwoven with actual history about Japanese internment in the US after Pearl Harbor. Hard to read about but something I unfortunately have read all too little about. Great color palette.

My older son is a mushroom fanatic. I found this book while I was doing my shelving at the library and immediately grabbed it to take it home. When I showed it to him his face lit up. We’ve seen a couple shelf mushrooms in our backyard so that was the page that interested him the most. All the illustrations are so cute. I recommend this for elementary to middle schoolers who are interested in the outdoors or heck even grown ups like me who want to see mushrooms with faces drawn on them!

My kids actually LoLed at this one. Terrific illustrations and a great message!

This is a great middle grades read. I grabbed this for my 4th grader to read and he sat down and finished it in one sitting and told me I had to read it too so we could talk about it. It's a little on the scary side though! Immediately put a hold on volumes 2 and 3 at the library.

This was utterly painful to get through and entirely too kind to Benjamin Franklin, who is in all honesty a deeply conflicting founding father.

This is a really good introduction to the New Deal, specifically the CCR. Appropriate for middle grade readers, I finished it in a few hours. Nice pictures and nice pop outs with concepts kids might not be familiar with, like specific Supreme Court trials, the Dust Bowl, etc..
