My kinda book. Just terrific. Best to read knowing absolutely nothing about it.

There is just no reason this book needed to be this long. The second half was more engrossing than the first, for me. But my goodness, there was a tremendous amount of place setting I could have done without.

I read this one with my kids. At first, they weren't too engaged but by the end of the story they were really engrossed in Alia's courageous story to save the books.

This was a very jarring read given the age of the book. OBL pre September 11th, young Alex Jones, and above all else, so much lizard person talk.

If you’re into what makes fringe thinkers tick, you might enjoy this. The chapters on Thom Robb and his new age KKK were just incredible head scratchers.

I wasn’t familiar with Ian Paisley, in fact I don’t know much about The Troubles at all, but that chapter upset me more than any other in the book.

I wish there were half star ratings. Not my kind of book at all, but it went quickly.

The amount of work that went into this was exhaustive.

This has always been cartooning style I’ve been most drawn to and I’m so glad that someone wrote an overview of all the studios that worked in it during the 50s and beyond.

I wish this book was cheaper and easier to find. I was so fortunate my library system has a copy. Hopefully I can renew my hold a few times to keep it a little longer.

This was an interesting collection of short story comics about black hair. Really, black hair at first glance, but many more societal issues at the core of the stories. My only criticism is that the art was rough and I had some trouble discerning between characters.

I'm in awe of how much effort must have gone in to this graphic novel biography of Artemisia Gentileschi. I learned a ton I didn't know about Italian patronage during the period. I actually did not know much about the artist's life either. Like the life of so many women in the pre-modern era, it was ultra depressing at times. Definitely recommended if you're interested in historical graphic novels or art history.
