Might be my favorite collection of Mary Oliver poems.
A classic. Can’t believe I’d never read it.
This was a very interesting look at the storyboarding industry. I enjoyed the author's background story and the animation style. The POV section at the end was too big of a departure for me, but everything done by the author was terrific.
This was incredibly well researched. It is essentially a biographical study of the five women killed by Jack the Ripper. I was amazed by the wealth of information known about them, how varied their lives were, and ultimately how sad their lives were from start to finish.
I will say I think the cover of this book does a disservice to potential readers. I was put off as I thought this would be some schlocky, true crime book based on the cover when this reads more like a sociology text than anything.

This is just remarkably good. I had no idea how long Seth had been working on this. In fact, I’d honestly not paid attention to who the creator was. Three quarters of the way through the picture novel I kept thinking ‘this really reminds me of “It’s a great life if you don’t weaken”’ only to realize that the author is the same.
Besutiful art, beautiful palette, and an engaging story.

Amazing collection of short stories. I'd read The Merchant and the Alchemist's Gate before, but the others were new to me. For those unaware, Ted Chiang is the author of the short story that was the inspiration for the film, Arrial.
The Truth of Fact, the Truth of Feeling reads like a Black Mirror episode.
So too with Anxiety is the Dizziness of Freedom.
I think my favorites are The Lifecycle of Software Objects and Omphalos.

Really fascinating. I loved the art style and the memoir was hard to put down.
This far less charming than Gombrich’s “A Little History of the World” and is effectively the same world history survey. It’s quite surprising this won a Newbery.
This was just fantastic. I wasn’t sold on the verses in the first few pages but I was so engrossed by the story I couldn’t put it down. Well written and the characters were so well developed despite the length.
