A mystical quest set in the Middle Ages with 3 intrepid kids? What’s not to love?
Reads like Canterbury Tales meets The Phantom Tollbooth.
While fantastic at times, is very grounded in reality in high medieval France and has a great afterword by the author with more information.
Charming illustrations also!

This was excellent!! I don’t read many marvel titles but this was such an interesting take on Vision.
This was a heavy, gripping, depressing read. I honestly didn’t know any of this had happened. Never had to read Heart of Darkness for school, don’t recall reading anything about the Congo in world history class. Let’s be honest, it would have been a footnote at best. To learn the kind of atrocities that were committed there was frankly shocking. This was very well researched as well.
Fantastic!
Can't believe I've never read this one. Will be thinking about it for a while.
One of the most beautiful books I've ever read.
A bit of a doorstop, I read this one in fits and starts over a month. The novel is set up as historical speculative fiction and concerns what the world would be like if European culture had been eradicated by the plague. The reader experiences this world through the centuries in the voice of different characters who are the same reincarnated souls.
I wish I could read it again for the first time.

This is the best one yet. 😭😭😭
One of my absolutely favorites.
read this one in high school, didn't realize I'd never rated.
