Makumbi has done it again. What a genius. I just finished this novel and while I'm letting its words marinate inside me, I feel inspired and empowered to do something, you know? I want to achieve a goal. It's always a joy to see a master storyteller at work and Makumbi is just *chef's kiss*

This is such a cute romance. I finished it in less than 3 hours. Very paced and light. I need more books like this from Nigerians living in Nigeria

Shafak can weave a story! She's a genius

So, it's not like I didn't like this last book in the trilogy, but I felt like it had been written by someone other than the person who wrote Nervous Conditions. I'm mesmerized by the richness of the simplicity at play here. Just, wow.

I never thought a day would come that I wouldn't enjoy a Sefi Atta book but here we are. This novel was lacking that oomph that I've gotten used to in Atta's writing. Or maybe I've outgrown her. Is that possible? I don't know. I'm just sad that I didn't enjoy this book

My only complaint is that it ended to soon. IDC that it was a novella, this was too short for me.
