Took me quite a while to read, found the first quarter of the book quite slow. After that it's more gripping and hard to put down.

Like many clasics it was long and rambling, hard to follow the plot at points. It got easier halfway through, but I still had to push myself to finish it.

A great read, very interesting perspective.

I received the book for free through Goodreads First Reads. For a really short book I found it really hard to get through. The characters weren't memorable and it felt like not very much happened even though the book spans a number of years.
